I have been a patient of Dr. Spiess for many years and only have wonderful things to say about him. He’s very attentive and knowledgeable and never rushes the appointment and takes the time to answer any and all questions that I may have! And like I read in the other comments I cant say enough about his compassion and makes you feel like he really cares about you! He also has a great sense of humor and I would recommend him to anyone who is looking for an eye doctor. Not to forget, his receptionist is also wonderful to deal with and is also very compassionate!

We've been seeing Dr Spiess for years now as our optometrist and I can not say enough amazing things about him and his receptionist! They're both incredibly helpful and kind. Dr Spiess is super easy to chat with and wonderful with my kids. He's very personable and engaging. I HIGHLY encourage prospect patients to visit them for their eye care!!

I have been searching for a good optometrist for about 6 years now. I didn't find a good one, I FOUND A GREAT ONE!!. Thanks to a family recommendation I am elated to have an eye doctor who listens and takes the time to explain issues in layman terms! I live in Dartmouth and must say it was well worth the drive to Lower Sackville!!

fantastic doctor, always punctualand I find I am never waiting too much longer than my actual appointment time. Exceptional staff that helped me work around my tight schdeule to book an appointment. I will continue to see doctor spiess for my eyes ands my childrens until the day he retires!

Since October last year I had trouble with seeing out of my left eye. I made an appointmet with Dr. Spiess, but his assistent told me on the phone that my insurance no longer covered him because he is a medical doctor and not an optomatrist. So dissapointed about that, I made an appointment with the FYI optomotrist in Sackville to have my eyes checked. After all the tests she said they were floaters. But it kept bothering me and in April I had an appointment with dr. Spies for a second opinion. He said they are not floaters, maybe cataract, but he wasn't sure. He then send me to Halifax Vision center and there they found out I have a epiretinal membrane which requires surgery. I'm so thankfull to Dr. Spiess and so upset with FYI eye specialists for not listing and taking my complains serious. I will never go back there again. I'm going to write my insurance about this and tell them to refund claims from DR. Spiess. This is crazy. I have been to him in the past and keep going back. He will give you an honest opinion and doesn't have all those machines and extra's that don't give a good reading anyways. I gladly pay 70 out of my own pocket instead of over 100 with all the extra stuff.
