Amazing doctor- knows his stuff, and actually listens to your concerns and symptoms without just jumping to conclusions. I cannot stress what a rare and amazing find dr. Mat is.

Dr. Mat is an amazing doctor. He has a wealth of knowledge but is able to admit when he is wrong and try another strategy, which has happened to me once. I have had many doctors, and this is quite a rare skill that I wish was more common- the ability to quickly re-evaluate and try a new thing. Dr mat is friendly, procedural, and highly recommended.

He used to be great but for the last several years he has developed a real God Complex. Quite sad.

If I could give less than 1 star I would.

He totally dismisses any concerns you have, and makes inappropriate comments.

Sought referral for fertility issues and was told to go have a one night stand with a stranger.

Sought referral for therapy and was refused. Was told I could only get therapy with their "staff".

I asked to be switched to another doctor (female) in the clinic and was denied. Was told if I want to change doctors I need to go to a different clinic/doctor and cease being a patient at the Smithville Family Medical Centre.

Dr. Mat is a fantastic doctor. I have had 3 different family doctors and he has been my family doctor for approximately 8 years. He is extremely knowledgeable and caring towards people both inside and outside of work (have bumped into him a few times). I have some health problems which have me seeing multiple doctors at times for specialist treatment and none of these doctors treat me the way Dr. Mat does. He is always on time for appointments, has tons of information he is always more than willing to share with you. I appreciate the fact that if I approach him with a form of treatment I found online he is always more than willing to do his own personal research into study cases etc. and let's me know his findings. His nurse is extremely knowledgeable and just as nice as Dr Mat, they make an amazing team. I feel privelaged to have him add my doctor.

Dr Matt has a great bedside manner. He is very kind. He takes his time with you and you do not feel like you are being rushed out of the office.

Dr. Matt is a very capable and competent doctor with excellent personality and compassionate understanding nature with patients. Our entire family are comfortable with him, as with all of the doctors and staff at this health center; his nurse is way above average as well for knowledge and bedside manner. All of the other doctors who see us when he is not there are also great. Never any issues or complaints at all with Dr. Matt. This is a truly outstanding doctor at a wonderful Family Health Team that this rural community is very happy to have with us.
