Terrific doctor. I had a hard time finding a doctor that actually cared about their patients, had a complete understanding of my condition. My last doctor prescribed a certain medication that make me very ill. Once I told him that, he prescribed a different medication, which I found out was basically the same exact medication, under a different a different name. It made me sick again. I felt very disrespected, and it led me to finding Dr Kalou. Thank you, Dr Kalou… for everything you do for your patients! God bless you.

Best doctor in town. I’ve had a number of health complications, and since I’ve been seeing Kalou, he has provided even more effective healthcare than most of the specialists I’ve seen. 👍👍👍👍👍

Great doctor! Dr Kalou is a tremendous doctor. His medical knowledge is second to none. No matter what my health issues have been, his diagnoses & treatment has always been on the money. There are a lot of self-righteous jokers in the Charleston area, parading around as doctors. Dr Kalou is the antithesis & opposite of that. He genuinely cares about people. Words can’t even describe how my health has improved since I started seeing him. Just a good dude, all around. A true man of faith. I’m so glad I started seeing him years ago, and so grateful for his care and friendship!

Always have had good experiences with Dr Kalou and his staff. They are all super nice, and go out of their way to help people. And I’ve found that he’s brilliant when it comes to practicing medicine. Not just addiction related stuff, but all other aspects of health. His knowledge factor is a 10 out of 10, and I really feel like I’m cared about, when I’m there. I’m not just a number, like other doctors have treated me. He’s authentic. He gives it to you straight. And I can definitely see why he gets so much great feedback. The only people I have EVER heard badmouth him are the addicts he tries to help, that are mad when they’re on their last strike, and end up getting discharged from his program for failing to uphold their end of the patient/doctor agreement. And in those cases, it’s people shifting the blame to everyone but themselves. If he sees that you’re following the rules and are respectful to him and his staff, they will treat you like gold. But he’s been fighting the opioid epidemic almost longer than anyone in the area. He’s seen it all, so you’re not gonna get one over on him. Unfortunately there are folks who think they can stay in the program and continue to use drugs. He doesn’t tolerate that at all. He can’t, and he won’t. He’ll do everything he can to help you, but you’ve gotta meet him halfway. You’ve gotta have clean drug screens, and do your therapy. If you can’t do that, you wont last long here, and I’d recommend saving your time until you’re absolutely sure you no longer want to live the life of an active drug addict. My life was a wreck before I met Samir Kalou. An absolute wreck. And without his help, God only knows where I’d be… or if I’d even be alive at all. I will never let anyone talk down about him while I’m around, without giving my two cents. He’s been a miracle to a lot of us recovering addict in the Kanawha Valley, and makes sure all aspects of our health are covered. Just look at all the testimonials on here. Thank you, Dr Kalou… for everything you’ve done for me, and all your other patients who wanted to get their lives back in order. You are the best!

Best doctor I’ve ever had. He’s a very good person, and I feel completely at ease with him being my doctor. Sometimes he’s tough, but he’s always caring and fair. His nurses are great too.

Terrible experience they scheduled me get shot on Thursday but dr was still on vacation so they rescheduled it for following Thursday but never called in any medicine and since shot has already been ordered my insurance won’t pay for any medicine for another 30 days even though I told them I wasn’t coming back to get shot hate this place my life has been hell since going to him had to resort to buying drugs off street

What a great doctor. Dr Kalou knows his stuff! He’s been able to help me in ways a half dozen other doctors failed to do. I am eternally grateful for his compassion and care! He’s got a great office staff too. Wonderful people.
