Dr. Hawari has been my doctor for 10 years and he is the BEST. He is now my husbands doctor and the pediatrician for my 2 children since they were born. He made a special trip to evaluate my daughter when she was born when he was not on call, and he came back the following 2 days to check on her as well. He always fits my children in when they are sick, and while the office staff is never happy with unscheduled appointments, he is always happy to fit us in. He usually never is on time but when he's in the room with you, you have his undivided attention. He never appears to be in a rush to get out of the room and move onto the next patient, even though he is probably always backed up. One of the things I respect him most for is if he doesn't know the answer to something, he will admit he doesn't know (instead of making something up that might not be accurate) and then he will find the answer and personally call or follow up at the next appointment. I cannot say enough good things about him except that we are truly blessed to have him as our doctor. We also love his nurse Melissa!

While he is friendly, he does not always listen to what you are telling him and blames a lot on age. He never asks a women to have a regular pap smear or mamogram.

I like him very much and I trust him. The only thing I do not like is he does not ever ask me to do a pap smear.

Since English is his second language, I had to continually ask him to repeat what he was saying so I could understand him. After he left me unattended, shirtless, in a cool room for 15 minutes to see another patient I later caught a cold, had to take several days off work and almost had to make another doctor's appointment to cure the cold). His bedside manner is unusual in that he laughs about how he is inflicting "pain" and "torture" on you thinking that such commentary is funny but it really is not. The routine procedure he performed differed sharply from similar procedures performed by other doctors in that he used a maximum incision technique instead of minimum incision. His chosen method not only increased the length of the scar but also the healing time, the possibility of complications/infection and the fees charged as the larger the incision, the greater the fee. His chosen method also made use of old-style sutures that required another office visit to have them taken out.

Dr. Hawari is by far the absolute best of the best. My husband, myself and my daughter all went to him. He took care of my daughter pediatrician visits and was on top of his game with her needs as a premie. He exceeded my expectations and if we had not moved out of state, he would still be my doctor. Dr. Hawari is the best Dr. I've ever seen. He is so personable and friendly. He knows I have bad anxiety and with his medical knowledge, I am put at ease. I just came back from an Appt. with him and figured the best way to give thanks is to give him the 5 star rating he deserves!

Dr. Hawari is great. However, the front office staff is horrible. Don't expect to call them and talk to a human or get a call back anytime soon. You will always get an answering machine first and then you may get a call back in 48 or 72 hours.

Great doctor! Very personable and wonderful with children. Very helpful with treating seasonal allergies. Has same day appointments for sick visits. Children are a priority when sick. Overall, the staff is very nice. At times of visits (3-4 so far - spring 09) staff appears to be very busy and understaffed. Hopefully this will change in the future (visited office in Winchester, VA).
