I have had him as my doctor for 25 years. Although he works odd hours, he moves things around as needed to get to important issues. Even did a minor surgery on the spot when it was needed. Legit we went to the hospital and he took care of a major issue. He never pushed hard meds and always gave me safe alternatives. I couldn't be more appreciative.

Helt has been my doctor my whole life and he has not once actually helped me with a problem I've gone to him with. He has tried to push unnecessary medications on me and refuses to send me to specialists when one is clearly needed. When I asked him "could the problem be this" he has told me to stay off doctor Google and ignored my concerns and suggestions. He has only even done bandaid fixed like pain killers instead of getting to the root of the problem. He doesn't seem to care about his patients AT ALL. Shelley is also extremely rude and never answers the phone. I wouldn't recommend him to anybody.

Dr Helt has been my family dr for 6 yrs now. I have never had an issue getting an appointment to see him. Shelley has always been very polite to us when we call and come into the office. Dr Helt is very knowledgeable and helpful.
He is a DR that generally cares about his patients and families :)

Dr. Helt has been my Family Physician for 14 years. Nice man, who is calm and respectful. He is experienced and makes referrals as necessary. Like all family physicians, they are busy and at bit overwhelmed with work, but he listens and gives you the time you need.
Shelly, his admin is not good to deal with. She will not answer the phone, and the machine will not take messages, so i spend hours redialing until i finally give up and go to the office to make an appointment. I only visit for required tests and avoid going unless i have to. With the current restrictions, that is not possible, meaning you wait for her to decide if she is willing to call you and set up a phone appointment. Shelly can be friendly, but is usually rude. She once commented that her and Dr. Helt are a team, and she is equally important in the office as him. I have questioned to myself why Dr. Helt keeps her, he could find someone far more pleasant which would be nice for his patients.

Dr Helt used to be my doctor and he was great. His nurse on the other hand, was NOT. She breached confidentiality when she called my mother and disclosed my pap results. I was 21 years old and it’s illegal to disclose anything to a parent when a person is over the age of 18. Totally unprofessional and if I could go back in time I would sue her.

Dealing with dr. Heltv is great with us but dealing with Shelley is like walking on egg shells.

The absolute worst doctor in midland I have many things I would love to say about this man's practices unfortunately I cannot however I would recommend no one to this man for any sort of medical advice and or treatment and feel as though he should seek retirement immediately .

Dr. Helt has been my doctor my whole life. He has always been very kind and considerate to my concerns and always listens and refers me out as necessary. Shelley is a very busy woman and though sometimes abrupt she is always accommodating to the best of her ability. I am very thankful to have Dr. Helt as my family doctor.
