I have been a patient of DR. HEIER for years and all of a sudden he goes MIA. Has anyone been able to get in contact with him? I have not!

My son came with me and we were warned about waiting time before we came. I was afraid but staff comforted me, and when I had to stay hospital staff was friendly and attentive. I was not there for a friend, I was there to get my 10 year stomach ache fixed but Dr Heier was very nice before and after he fixed my problem.

Listed in the local paper as one of a few doctors who get paid close to a $1,000,000 a year. That's because he rakes in multiple uneeded procedures, and the hospital knows it. Never answers direct medical questions, changes the subject to something idiotic, like a comment about something else. Wanted to order additional procedures. I checked the American Gastrological Association website - turns out that my suspected condition did not even qualify to do those additional procedures, after he already did other needlessly. Office staff nice when they want to discuss making procedure appts., but when you want to get medical answers from him, they get very nasty.

I am going to destroy his reputation. He nearly killed my father, and as a result of his negligence my father spent 176 days in the Hospital. Today we lost a Malpractice suite when the evidence clearly stated that Dr Heier was negligent with his care of my father. The Jury was worried about this mans reputation so they decided to give him a pass! When is the justice system ever on the patients side.? My family is financially and emotionally destroyed because of this man. Somebody paid this jury off. There is no possible way we should have lost this case. What good is having evidence that states the Dr admitted he messed up and you the jury don't use that for the plaintiff? Lets not forget that this Dr. was involved in another malpractice case that is on going where he and another Dr. Killed a young college girl. This man is Emotionless, a terrible communicator, and thinks he is untouchable. Stay away from Dr. Heier. He he more worried about his reputation than anything else!

After 7 years of suffering finally I found a doctor who paid attention and then fixed my problem. I will admit it took time but the staff continually kept me informed and I was warned ahead of time. You don't sit in a waiting room, you are assigned your own private waiting room with TV and bed. I had to stay overnight, all staff, ALL staff was kind, considerate and attentive. I am "fixed" now and my appreciation knows no bounds.

HORRIBLE experience - The doctor pulls you through tests, without clear explanation of the need. His rude and disorganized staff are another awful problem. Without letting you know what the future plans are, he already knows what he is planning to do - it's to get you into one experience after another, leave you in the dark, and not do all or the appropriate lab tests, which are likely the least invasive, least costly way to find out the answers to your symptoms. his main concern is clearly not of your health.

Waited 3 hours and finally walked out. Staff was indifferent. After three hour wait, one of the reception staff still didn't know who I was. I was revolted by the situation. Never received a call with an apology nor an explanation of why I received such poor service. Made an appointment to see another gastroenterologist, after waiting for 2 hours and 45 min, then left 15 minutes after that. Buh bye

Dr. Heier's staff aren't great. They always seem to have some excuse as to why they can't give you what you need, etc. That aside, they are friendly and caring. As for Dr. Heier, I don't agree with what the other reviewer said. I find him to be very approachable and knowledgeable. Yes, he orders a lot of tests, but they are for a reason. He is thorough. For the last few months, he has been trying to figure out what is wrong with me when no other doctor could. He called me at 6:30 pm from his house when I was in extreme pain and had helpful suggestions. He can come off as a little brusque and business-like sometimes, but that is what I want from a specialist - a guy who knows his stuff.

Some people have trouble getting in touch with their doctors. After being Dr Haier’s patient for some time, I couldn’t even get a hold of his secretary for a week when I was having a bad GI attack. On the surface, he seems knowledgeable, but he is test-happy and an extremely difficult man to deal with. After coming out of anesthesia once, and being confused, and asking him questions, I found myself being yelled at and having the door slammed.
