Just wanted to let all of you who commented here know, that this doctor you have been rating is my grandfather. he was an incredibly smart man, contributing in many ways to science and to our family. he was a wonderful doctor who loved his patients and was committed to his work. i didn't have the opportunity of seeing him very many time because he was always busy working with his patients. even when we went to visit at his house he would be up late at night working on referals and would be gone early in the morning to visit his patients. my grandpa was committed to the people who came to see him for advice. i hope you can all appreciate the sacrifice that both he and my entire family made to have him so committed to you, his patients.

I started seeing Dr. Petkau in 2008, at first I thought it was time he retired. After a few visits, I found him very thorough and helpful. We always had a good discussion about my condition, we talked about his background and was open to recommendations from my specialists. He passed away a few weeks ago and will be missed.

I think it's time this doctor retired. Took my young son in with an ear infection. He was shaking so badly, wondered if he was gonna get the instrument into his ear. I also agree, likes to push pills.

Communication is poor. Agree with other statements of over doing it with the pills and most times without clear explanations.

I used to think he was a horrible doctor, but only because of ill comments made by many people. Doctor Petkau has been nothing but wonderful when it comes to care for my family. I would trust him with my life!

Nice man, but he doesn't communicate with his patients and doesn't follow-up. Patient has to initiate questions, and he often doesn't listen to his patients' concerns. I've suffered several bouts of pneumonia, but after a visit with Dr. Petkau, he insisted it was only a dry cough and prescribed nothing. A week later my condition has developed into full blown pneumonia and bronchistis. I will wait to see another physician if anything serious materializes again.

He's been my doctor for years, very knowledgeable and proper about the job. Has a tendency to over-prescribe anti-biotics though. He's pretty quiet but if you ask will give you all the info. Overal a good doc to have.
