Dr. Behrmann and Barbara Behrmann LCSW, both treated me in 2013. Dr. Behrmann prescribed me klonopin.
I abused it and got arrested shortly after graduating that summer. I was 18 and had a drug charge on my record. Barbara Behrmann LCSW, was my therapist at the same time her husband was my psychiatrist. I was majorly depressed, smoking weed, and bulimic. When I finally confessed to throwing up my food, Barbara said she had suspected I was bulimic from how my face looked puffy. This was also the day after I had been arrested.
It’s devastating now, at 28, that I beat myself up over not “being good at therapy” and feeling bad that I had let myself get hooked on this addictive drug PRESCRIBED to me. The 18 year old with addictive and obsessive tendencies.
Dr. Behrmann and Barbara Behrmann exploit the vulnerable people who are brave enough to try and get help.

Dr Behrmann was assigned to my case when I was in the hospital after severe depression, anxiety, and a failed suicide attempt . His bedside manner is unkind, and he seemed to be taunting me as he signed the paperwork to have me transferred to a psychiatric hospital. I was hurt, confused, angry and fearful due to his approach to his work . He took me off my psych meds cold turkey .. HIGHLY unethical !! So I sat in the admitting hospital for 5 days w no meds, and with withdrawals !! As a result I was awake for 96 hrs straight and my mental state took a nosedive again . I would NEVER use this doc again . Find another provider who cares about you as a human being, because Dr. B definitely does not !

Dr Behrmann was helpful in a recurrence of my depression. He has a fairly low key approach, which suited me well - explaining what was causing the depression, what would help, what could be a problem. The prescribed medication worked well and quarterly followup visits were helpful. If you are looking for a helpful low key business-like approach, Dr Behrmann is great. If you want more intervention, more intensity, you may wish to look elsewhere. I would particularly recommend this doctor for professionals and managers with work-related issues.

I was referred to Dr. Behrmann as a result of a severe depressive episode. He prescribed anti-depressant medication for me, which helped almost immediately. However, though Dr. Behrmann helped me with the presenting crisis, he was decidedly minimalist in his approach to me afterwards. He explained very little about my condition, nor did he seek to get to know me better in that context. Additionally, no treatment agenda was outlined. Because of this, and the fact that I was paying out-of-pocket at the time, I left his care in search of another physician. Unfortunately, there were many holes in his approach that needed plugging, and for that, I suffered needlessly.
