Dr. Gerber is a wonderful, caring doctor. The practice, however, is horrible. The wait time is ridiculous, and God forbid you have a legitimate issue that requires immediate care because you won't get it. And I have to say this, to everyone who has bad mouthed young mothers and Medicaid patients, grow up. You don't know these women or their situations and shame on you for judging them. I was a young, unmarried Medicaid patient once so I understand how these women feel. It's embarrassing when you have no choice but to accept help and the lady behind the counter screams "I need your Medicaid card" and everyone looks at you like you are the scum of the earth, when really you just need a little help. There are people who really need the help and don't abuse the system. So the next time you see a young mother with Medicaid, don't judge, you don't know her story, you wouldn't want people judging you.

I have been seeing Dr Gerber for over 18 years, since she first started with the practice. I had my child in 1998, who was actually delivered by Dr Littler but I also saw Dr G. For most of that time I have really enjoyed our Dr/Patient relationship. She had helped me with a lot in that time.
However, in the past 5 years or so I have seen an extreme decline in patient care. Not so much by her, but by having to wait up to 2 hours after my initial appointment before I actually got to see her. Last year, I waited over 1.5 hours and finally went to the counter to reschedule. The girl at the front desk had no personality whatsoever. She just turned and started tapping stuff into the computer to get me another appointment. She didn't apologize, offer an excuse, or anything! She asked me if a certain date and time would be ok, I said yest, then she pushed the appt card my way and closed the glass window.
When I looked up I saw Dr Gerber in the office managers office laughing with her about something like she had all the time in the world. They both looked up at me and I just left. (All the offices in the back had glass walls so I was able to look straight back and see this.)
When I came back for my rescheduled appt, again, I waited almost 2 hours. When I was finally called back I waited some more while wrapped up in a paper gown which was all torn by the time she came in. I have made a habit of taking a sweater because it happens every time that I am sitting there in paper and freezing to death. Not to mention it offered no voter after I had sat in it so long and it tore etc.
I am very upset about the last few years appointments here. I always wait at least an hour, then I don't get much time when I do have her attention. I have been a loyal patient since 1997, having appointments every single year sometimes 2 or 3 times a year. I always showed up early, and used to be seen on time. The officer personnel need some training for better personalities and whoever needs to stop overbooking patients.
After all this time, I am now looking for a different practice. No patient deserves to be treated like this. This is ridiculous.

why do doctors ask that you arrive for your appointment 15 min. early and then make you wait 1hr and 30 min (or more...still waiting ) before calling you into a room? Maybe you should stop taking new patients in order to take care of existing ones? still waiting....by the time I get in I will not want to take the time to discuss my concerns...I'll be focused more on how I need to get home for other obligations....

I love Dr. Gerber and the staff at Carolina OBGYN. They are very good at what they do and Dr. Gerber is excellent at making sure she is speaking to you in lay terms rather than medicalease. As for the Medicaid paitients and young mothers who are worried about recieving less than stellar care keep your legs closed and stop wasting everyone else's tax dollars you have no business having a baby anyway. Break the cycle for God sake! And so what you have to wait for your appointment they aren't stocking shelves here they are dealing with real women with a range of issues and they can't all be solved in 5 minutes, I certainly appreciate the time and care they take with me each time. Should I have to wait an hour or more I just consider it a welcome nap and break from my work day. I am very pleased with this practice and would absolutely recommend them to any and every expectant mother.

Dr. Gerber has been my doctor for about 7 years. She did not deliver my two sons but I suffer from endometriosis and she has been a wonderful doctor. She did a lapriscopy on me and was kind enough to fit me in while I was having my gallbladder out so that I would not have another scar. she worked with my surgeon and did a great job. The office is slow sometimes but they have always been very professional with me and kind. She sends me home with samples since my deductible is so high and always ask how I am emotionally doing as well. Which shows that she is caring. She is a wonderful doctor and I would never go anywhere else!

This docters office is only for one thing and that is money. What kind of docter has a 29 week preggers woman drive 45 miles to tell her they arent going to do anything to help her with her pain, but give her a referance for a pain management docter! My friends calls are only returned 3-4 days after she has called them. The docters are nothing but rude and uncaring. So now my friend is going to a docter that cares and doesnt treat thier expectant mothers as walking ATMs!

I am not a problem pt and have never asked for anything more than a phone call back and cant even get them to do that. I have had problems with Migraines and their suggestion was to drop my private ins and get on medicaide and get accupuncture WHAT A JOKE!!!!!! I do not recommend them to anyone. The staff is rude and I have overheard them talking about patients behind their backs!!!!!!!!!!!

Dr.Gerber has been my OB for over 9 years,,and I LOVE HER! I have not been pregnant while in her care, but have had years of gyno problems. She has been with me every step of the way very kind, considerate, patient and thorough. I may have to wait sometimes, but it is definitely worth it because she listens to everything and cares about your problems. She also always asks how my family and children are and I like that!
