Very professional with great knowledge in his field. Has always been very helpful in answering my questions and takes the time to explain the issues and possible management options. I would recommend this doctor and his staff.

I'm not sure who wrote the May 31 2022 review but as you can see by most, this man shouldn't be allowed to do what he's doing. He has no manners, rude, inappropriate comments about patients and thinks way too much of himself. I was seeing him and refuse to now. I am suffering with back pain but I'd rather wait in then see him again. Cape Breton needs orthopedic Dr specializing in spine/back issues. This guy is none of that. Unbelievable Cape Breton! Do better!

I’ve been seeing Dr MacNeil for months now. He’s very thorough and explains everything based on where you and what you tell him about your pain. He’s shown me nothing but kindness and has shown me nothing but empathy. He doesn’t rush with rx. He studies your scans and is open and honest. He tells you like it is. He suggests weight loss and I did it as it helps with the pain. He suggests and refers you to his PT and OT. I follow the physio exercise and assistive living devices as requested by both these ladies. I’m 70% better than I was starting out and just had another injection yesterday which I’m confident will help improve my situation even more. This doctor had saved my life as I was ready to give up and felt my quality of life was next to nil. After 5 years of pain and suffering he is my here and life saver. He tries to makes joke to make light of the situation and help you to smile and laugh. They say laughter is the best medicine. I encourage anyone to be referred to him and follow the rules and u will see results like I did. I wish you all the best of luck with your pain management and I think dr Robert MacNeil is the best for me. He doesn’t give up on me. 😊

This is a poor excuse for a doctor. This man makes fun of people, is rude, doesn,t listen and is absolutely of no help at all. He laughed at people in pain but it doesnt matter cause he couldn,t help you if we wanted too. He made fun of me because I had comprehension problems aftering having a TBI. Than suggested two extra strength ibuprofen every morning soon as I get up and another at night! He didn,t put that in his report because that would have ripped the stomach right out of me and he knew it This is what Cape Breton has for a pain doctor it is pathetic.

Do not waste your time visiting Dr MacNeil for pain clinic.He is arrogant and condescending and has no compassion for people with pain.

I SAW THIS IGNORANT PRICK TWENTY YEARS AGO AFTER A BAD CAT ACCIDENT, HAD HIS SECRETARY TOSS ME A TENS UNIT TO USE FOR TEN DAYS , AFTER I WAITED IN HIS OFFICE FOR NEATLY 2 HOURS WHILE HE SLITHERED OUT A CHRISTMAS LUNCH WITH HIS WIFE AND OTHERS, WAS TREATED LIKE TRASH, WAS CALLED FOR A FOLLOWUP , BUT I REFUSED TO GO. WAS REFERRED TO DR HARRY POLLETT , WHAT A GOD SEND CARING AND COMPASSIONATE,

What an absolute JOKE!! Empathy and compassion? The only thing this guy has is ego and nothing else. And he isn't afraid to belittle his patients by a long shot. I'm glad he has such a great life, because a lot of his patients do not. He couldn't care less about their well being. All he cares about is himself. I thought doctors were supposed to have at least some empathy and compassion for their patients. This one definitely has none. If I could afford a good lawyer, he would have already been sued.

It’s a shame we have limited doctors who deal with pain management. No compassion from this Doctor. Always in a hurry.
