This doctor is the best I have ever seen. He will visit patients in the hospital and ensures the health of family members. He listens, and cares.

Wonderful doctor & a real friend. Helpful, understanding, patient & thoughtful. Extremely efficient & knowledgable, not afraid to consult with specialists. Has the ability to reach specialists immediately & any referals are extremely fast. Knows how to get things done. We hope he never leaves Pinawa.

Great Dr, hard to get an appointment with him because his work load is CRAZY because we dont seem to get Good Drs here.Hope he wiil soon get a rest GREAT PERSON!

Dr. Van Gend is an incredible doctor. We are so blessed to have him as our family doctor. The community of Pinawa and Lac du Bonnet are priviledged to have him as a doctor. At any time meeting with "Richard" you can be assured of a pleasant smile and caring concern. He remembers well your history and can be counted on to assist a patient in need. He returns telephone calls promptly and is known as the Best Doctor Ever. Richard and his family have made their home in our community and we are proud to have them with us. Dr. VanGend is deffinitely a one of a kind Doctor. We would never want to lose him as a family Doctor. His kindness and compassion is as great as his medical knowledge. A very rare find today.

Dr. Richard is not only an amazing doctor, he is an amazing person all around. He is very sincere and caring for his patients and makes everyone feel as if they are the only concern of his. He has actually called our home during our sons many hockey injuries and even took the time to be concerned about my well being during these scarey times. We could use more doctors like him and many of our wonderful health care workers we are fortunate enough to have in our communities!

Dr. Van Gend is without question the most approachable, knowledgeable and caring Doctor we have ever had. Never does he make you feel rushed and there is no question his concern for you is genuine. How many Doctors appolize when they are running behind and keep you waiting...not many! But 'our" Dr. Van Gend cannot appologize enough when he's kept you waiting a mere five minutes. Our family considers ourselves extremely fortunate to have him as our Doctor and we hope he never chooses to leave! He's not only a great Doctor but a very valued member of this community. But we do have one complaint...we think he works too hard and too many long hours and want to give him a prescription for some well earned R & R. Have a great vacation this coming May Doc your truly deserve it. But don't forget to come back, we'd be lost without you.

Very knowledgeable Dr. who is compassionate, caring and seems very "up to date" on his knowledge of new proceedures and treatments/meds. A community like this should be very thankful for having him here.
