I am grateful to have Dr Appel as my primary care giver. I have to wait sometimes but then when she is with me she takes as much time until all problems and questions are addressed. Very smart and very thorough. Been our doctor for several years now.

I have a long history with Dr. Appel. She will not make you feel rushed and has an excellent bedside manner. She is not afraid to answer your questions and will help you understand the answers to your questions. Her staff is also wonderful. If you show up and check in on time you will be seen in a timely manner.
The only complaints I have is getting an appointment in a timely manner can be cumbersome, a consequence of being popular. The next complaint is that like most Doctors they will not address obesity. I am older and nutritional knowledge has come a long way since I was in school. I wish Doctors in general would take a more aggressive stance on this issue.
Overall, you will not be disappointed with her or any of the Doctors at John Deere Medical Group.
Keep up the great work Dr. Appel.

Knowledgeable. Does not rush you through like you are just a number. Takes time to listen and explain things. If she doesn't know something she doesn't hesitate to give you a referral or call a specialist for information. Will probably have my children switch from pediatrician and start seeing her. Great location, easy to get in and out of. Nurse is not always prompt about returning calls. Have been seeing Dr Appel for about seven years.

The care from Dr Appel,her PA's and the staff is way below par they never follow up and there is an overwhelming sense that no one really cares. I had to seek medical attention at the emergency room finaly, before recieving a consult to neurology. It seems their standard response to any of my family's needs over the last year is take some tyelenol. We are a busy, healthy family who only schedules an appointment WHEN WE ARE FEELING REALLY BAD. However we sent home typicaly in pain with no answer, refferal or help.

she takes the time to listen!!! If she doesnt know the answer to your problem/question then she is not too arrogant (like some doctors) to refer you to someone who knows.
