Dr. Hiltz has been my family Doctor for almost 40 years. He and Pam, his Nurse are wonderful. He is semi-retired for those that think he has a full office practice or doesn't care. Shame on you that comment in a negative fashion. I raised two wonderful children with his help and he looks after my needs professionally and with concern and compassion and a bit of needed humor. As for Pam, try looking after an office full of patients, walk-ins and a constant phone barrage during morning office hours. It's a feat in its self. I am often on hold as well, but when I call, she not only knows my voice, she is kind and very organized. She must shift through serious needs versus those that can wait a bit longer. Don't forget he has hospital rounds as well... I know as he saw me every day in hospital for 4 months. Just try to find a Doctor and Nurse to replace this practice. I dread the day he finally retires. My name is Barbara MacKenzie.

I am shocked by soe of the comments on here. I had been a patient of Dave Hiltz since 1995 and he has been nothing but good to me. I know his office is only open to noon, but if you are ever in the hospital he pays you a visit. I find he is up to speed on the new drugs that are available, but will not givethem for the safety concerns. I can't blame him there. I will continue to see Dr. Hiltz and don't find he wates my time. I go in, tell him the way I feel and he does what he has to. Remember a doctor cannot cure alot of things, they can only suggest. It is us who have to take action.........

He rushes you in and out, he isn't up to date on newer drugs and their effects, his office is closed every Friday, it's closed randomly, it's closed because of a little snow (schools are still open though), I believe his office is only open from 10am to noon on the days he actually goes in.. He tells stories to waste time instead of answering your questions and when you start asking questions he stands up and proceeds to the door to make you feel rushed out. I would never recommend him to anyone.

Takes forever to even get ahold of, then takes forever to get an appointment, then takes less than 5 minutes to talk with patients.

Dr. Hiltz has been my doctor for over 30 years and I have a lot of respect for him. He is extremely intelligent and a quick thinker, therefore I go in with my issues prepared to get to the point as quickly as possible. He has always been very thorough ordering tests or seeing specialists and wants me to be part of the decision making with the results. His secretary has always been professional and courteous to me, in person and on the phone. The phone is often busy but when I do get through I never have to wait more than a few days for an appointment.

I been Going to Dr. Hiltz since 1997 (When I moved to Moncton) and he has been great to me. Maybe the statements below are a large part in the shortage of Doctors in New Brunswick. I have never experienced any of the above claims ever. I am currently seeing Dr. Hiltz for back/leg pain. The receptionist is great and easy to talk to.

A bit arrogant. Does not followup on tests done. Also his notes do not match what he tells you is wrong (or not wrong) A person will really have to push him if you have a problem and need support from a specialist. He has no time to speak to you, keeps a tight schedule and is not interested in your concerns or symptoms, even if you have documentation. Probably knowledgeable, but how would you know?

Always follow up on your test results. The "if you don't hear from us, it's fine." isn't true. I've been told months after when there for an unrelated reason, "oh by the way..." His secretary, although pleasant, seems incompetent. Good luck getting through. The phone is always busy unless it's the machine. When you finally get through for your test results, she says that she only gives test results on Fridays. Huh??

I think Doorknob Dave is an ass! He's writing out a prescription before you are even done explaining the symptoms. Very poor attitude and bedside manner. I had to get some medical forms filled out and he charged me $50.00 to do them wrong! Same forms, another $50.00 and you guessed it wrong again! So i'm out a hundred dollars and was denied by my insurance company. The ding-dong who is supposed to be answering the phone is as useless as boobs on a sneaker. If i knew it was so easy to be a doctor i would have gone to medical school. Doctor Hiltz is proof there's no standards enforcement in New Brunswick. Go retire and play golf Dave and do us all a favor. The above statements are my own and you may not agree with me if you have less than 1/4 of a brain.

I am to the point where I dont want to see him even if I feel it is important, because nothing is important to him, never allowing you to finish relaying your problem he always finish for you, and dcompletely off the subject
