Dr. Maria Hayes saved my life in 1996 from an exploding ectopic pregnancy. She knew I was in trouble (I had an ectopic pregnancy 5 years earlier and she felt an urgency)and called me on a Friday night and urged me to go to the emergency room. When I told her I would think about it [I thought I was just having another miscarriage], she called my home again and talked to my husband. Needless to say, Dr. Hayes was operating on me on that cold February night at 1:00 in the morning. She always had compassion for me. Dr. Hayes and I went through a lot together. I never did have a child and I never blamed her. We tried everything. It just wasn't in the cards I was dealt.

Dr. Hayes has been my primary Ob/Gyn for the past 16 out of 17 years. I chose to see someone within BCN one time, and that was one too many. Dr. Hayes has been very compassionate throughout the years. She treats me like I'm someone special and remembers everything we've talked about from year to year. She's been my saint through some very difficult times. Thank you Dr. Hayes!

Dr. Hayes was very helpful with my infertility issues. She was patient, kind, understanding, and above all knowledgeable. She made an accurate assessment of my issues and came up with a detailed treatment plan. She was reassuring when some of the treatments did not work initially and was informative and open about the next course of treatment that I needed. It is because of Dr. Hayes' care that I am the proud mother of two beautiful sons.

I am 63 years old and a practicing psychologist. Dr. Hayes has been my doctor for the last 30 years. Not only did she save my life when I had an ectopic pregnancy and successfully treat severe endometriosis, but she "nursed" me through the most difficult period of my life. I can't fathom what people are talking about when they find her cold. She has always been very warm, able to deliver bad news with compassion, and she is the brightest physician I know. In fact,it is difficult to find doctors who I trust to be as competent as she is. In addition to my own contact with her, I have referred a number of my patients and friends to her for fertility treatments. They have all reported that they are very satisfied with her, talk about how much they love and respect her even when they are unable to conceive. I have never heard a negative comment about her or her staff. I suspect the negative comments she has received have to do more with the bad news she has to deliver than with her.

I was amazed to see some of the comments here. It's true Dr. Hayes isn't a over-the-top bubbly doctor, but she is courteous, pleasant, respectful, attentive and tells it to you straight. In no way do I feel she is cold. My wife and I are very picky about who we see and we couldn't be happier. She never treated my wife like she had a disease just because we couldn't conceive. This attitude helped my wife immensely as it provided her with emotional stability every time she saw Dr. Hayes. My wife did get pregnant (we listened to everything Dr. Hayes recommended) and even if she hadn't I still would have written this review.

Dr. Hayes is not cold, she gets to the point. In my opinion she runs a tight ship and she gives you the facts. It may not be what you want to hear, but she gives you honest answers. I have been having numberous issues and her staff has been more than helpful to me.

My husband and I just had our first appointment with Dr. Hayes. I had read the previous comments prior to our appt & was a little concerned but I think she was actually quite nice & helpful. She seemed very professional, structured, knowledgable, confidant & sincre. She didn't strike me as the warm & fuzzy type but that's okay--we just need an expert who won't waste our time & knows exactly how to help us have a healthy baby. I feel confidant that she has the same goal as we do. It was easy to set up an appt and her staff (front desk, nurse, medical tech & biller) were all friendly & helpful too.

One nurse, in particular there, is very rude. Attention doctors: Don't you know that your staff represents YOU. Clients (and yes, you should think of every single one of us that comes to your office as a potential client or customer and the level of respect that brings to a business because you certainly don't have the level of respect that you should for "patients" that provide a source of income for you and your staff) Clients will discontinue using your services when your staff provides a negative experience before YOU even get to see them. On to the doctor herself: I didn't like her. I also felt she was cold and rushing. There is no communication there at all. I didn't feel she is that knowledgeable anyway. Infertility is a serious issue that isn't something to drag feet on and it's extremely expensive. I expect to get my money's worth... and here, I couldn't have seen spending another dime or time in this office after the initial consult.
