Dr Widman helped my husband a couple of times. He was very thorough in analyzing his cardiac problems, took every aspect into account in diagnosing him and informing him so we could decide what treatment was best for my husband. Other cardiologists at the time had given him limited choices but Dr Widman gave him multiple choices with probabilities of success and risk for every one of them.. 10 years later after receiving surgery from Dr. Widman and his team of electrophysiologists he still does not wear a pacemaker and his condition has not recurred.

Dr. Lawrence Widman put me at ease the moment I walked through the door. He is conscientious, dedicated and sincerely cares about you. He is knowledgeable in every aspect of his field and up to date on the latest state-of-the-art techniques. If you need surgery: he is there throughout the entire process - from the moment you enter the hospital, throughout your stay and after you are released. He monitors your post-operative care and physical therapy. Even though Dr. Widman was not my surgeon, the incredibly successful outcome of my open heart surgery was due in large part to his diagnostics, care, advocacy and expertise. If you want the best, I highly recommend Dr. Lawrence Widman.

Refused to check my son's blood chemistry, failed to relate stomach pain to heart, instead called in an inept gastroenterologist who sedated my son, a muscular dystrophy pt. w/congestive heart failure. My son suffered cardiopulmonary arrest (surprise, surprise) and died. Had Widman checked my son's blood chemistry, electrolytes, etc. and concentrated on his heart instead of his stomach, my son would be alive today. When son said he was not feeling well I called Dr.W to check his blood - he said no; asked if he could see him, he said he had seen him last year and didn't need to see him again. I asked if stomach pain was heart related, he said "no correlation between the heart and the stomach". They WERE heart related. I feel that Widman's neglect greatly contributed to my son's death.

Dr. Widman was able to properly diagnose and treat a condition that other M.D.s had overlooked. He will explain everything in a way the patient can understand and take the time to make sure you understand about your condition and how it is treated. He has a great bedside manner.
