His receptionist was the only decent one.

Dr Veloso is a awful neurologist! Shouldn’t even have a job! He refuses to listen to me, wrote down all the wrong information which will now screw up my file for sgi, is ignorant, rude, and so much more! He seems to just want to push pills down your throat, or accuse you of faking everything. Avoid him at absolute all costs!

Have been seeing him for years. Exception Physican. Many other have seen him too and feel the same way. He does not rush to make prescriptions or assumptions. Better than most Physicans out there. Brilliant and always very kind. Always covers his bases to me are sure your well looked after.

Run and get a new referral!!!! He doesn't read your file ahead of time, you might not need to be there at all but he'll still get you in to the office for no reason. So he still gets paid for the visit. He told us if you get black outs then come see me and he dismissed our entire reason for being referred to by another specialist. Just read the ratings, they are true, he is awful and I'm sure there are better Neurologists. He's unprofessional, comes across as incompetent. Going to this Dr. with a teen was the worst thing we could have done as that teen left feeling devastated at the care given. This Dr. should not be practising medicine as he is to the point in his career that he doesn't seem to care enough to bother to read a file or look into why a person was referred in the first place. On a plus note, his reception is really nice.

His receptionist is very friendly. There was no wait to see him and he was on time.
However, he is very condescending. Didn’t take one look at my chart, knew nothing about my medical history. When I realized this, I began to tell him of my medical conditions and the reason for my visit, and he replies back rudely, “well how do you know you have that condition”.
He eventually printed some of my information and read it, then would ask me on repeat “well what did you do then?” He then tells me to pull out my phone and google a condition that he thinks I have. And asked me to tell him what the internet says for symptoms, diagnosis and treatment.
I then asked him what he recommends and he said “well read your phone what does it say?”
He ended up saying “if your symptoms get too annoying, call me in 6 months and we can try treatment if you’re a pill person”.
He is also very difficult to understand and has problems understanding you. Had to write things out for him

Dr. Veloso is very knowledgeable about migraine. He helped me to control my migraines in the 80s and 90s, and when my migraine flared up 20 years later, he was helpful again. He actually gave me 50 minutes (yes, almost an hour) to review my migraine history. Fortunately for me, he is still working part-time. Thank you so much, Dr. Veloso!

Terrible absolutely terrible. He doesn’t understand what you say. He asked me what medication I was on I had to spell it out for him. He went off the other reports sent to him and didn’t bother to explore any other issues that may be causing the problem. I had gone to him for a second opinion. He’s old, can’t hear, can’t see very well and should likely retire he totally dismissed my concerns and laughed at me when I told him I had a family history of brain tumors! Never again. And it is Valentines Day today and when I was leaving he says “ have a happy thanksgiving”. Terrible.

Went above and beyond to help out with an underlying issue that wasn't related to a previous condition.

He was more interested in pushing his new book than listening to my husband's symptons. Wife'opinion was discounted as over reaction. My husband had a stroke within months of seeing dr veloso and dimissing his symptons.

I saw Dr. Veloso for years as I am epileptic. I've never had a problem with him and he always answered my parents or my questions. He was kind and compassionate and was very helpful when it came time to come off my meds. Those you complaining that he would leave...he works at the hospital and is usually the on call neurologist. If an emergency comes up, he has to leave. It's his job. It disappoints me that people don't understand this.

I've been a patient for over 30 yrs, he's helped me stay seizure free just as long. He doesn't rush through his explanations and uses language I understand without talking down to me. Very personable and kind.
