Wow. These people are completely lost. They had no record of my appointment for a follow-up visit or even for the initial visit. Dr. Ackerman didn't even know my name but pretended to remember me and my issues. I'll find a new doctor.

This Dr. has been nothing more than phenomenal. I started treatment with her a couple of months ago after many years of struggling with acne. I have been to many Drs. in NYC who were not able to help me the way Dr. Ackerman has done in the past couple of months. I have cystic acne which is one of the more severe formes of acne. It took a couple of weeks for me to see a difference in my skin. I am totally HAPPY with the results. I also had a acne scar removel treatment done which is very difficult to perform on African Americans because of potential keloids. The scar removal surgery came out much better than I would have ever expected. I would recommend Dr. Ackerman to anyone because she is very knowledgeable about her busniess and really catered to all my needs as her patient. Her office hours are also very convenient since I work in New York. She has been more than flexible with me.

The doctor kept me waiting one hour, and then when she finally saw me, she NEVER even touched me ! I was there for a full cancer check ( my first ) so I was not sure what to expect. I pointed out one thing on my chest& she glanced at it,saying it was nothing to worry about , She spent the entire time with me staring at my stomach !! saying I looked good, no need to lose waight ! ( I had just told her how embarrased I was to be standing there in front of her with only my underwear on, since I had just gained a lot of weight)She never searched my body over looking for problems, which I have since learned is common practice, I have a large wart on my leg & a few other "funny " things on my back, but they never got looked at ,She evidenty only cared about the $50, not my health. When I called her a few weeks later to ask to talk to her about it, her receptionist refused to let me speak with her. If you value your health, go see someone else ,I did ,and they actually checked me over

Never ever go to this doctor! The reason for my appointment was that suddenly i was loosing great amount of hair and also my nails were peeling like never before. She looked at it and said that its not so bad and sent me home. When i tried to explain her that its NOT ok for me, cause i never experienced it before and i don't want to get bold and nailless... Guess what she said- "its not so bad". At least she could send me for a blood test or smtng, but she didn't! (as i found out later, with another dermatologist, of course, i had a copper deficiency). Plus the waiting time, plus her look, the smell of cigarettes from her, out of date office... DON'T GO!

Awful. I've seen her several times and each time waited at least an hour in a crowded waiting room. I initially went in for acne and mole removal. She took off one mole, but not the whole thing, which meant I had to go back for her to finish the job. She even asked who did it the first time, when it was her! There are several other moles I need removed, but she keeps telling me to come back and she'll do it next time. This has been going on for months. For my acne, she gave me an antibiotic and a topical, both of which have made my skin worse. Last time I saw her, she handed me some samples of retin-A and walked out of the room with no explanation. I asked about a Rx, and she said next time! After the botched mole removal, I'm not ever going back. She is also very uncomfortable in her manner. She goes in and out of the exam room several times during the visit and leaves the door open while I'm sitting there exposed.

Long wait time with a very rude and condescending attitude. The second visit was to discuss my test results, after a one hour wait I found out that the results were not yet available was charged for a visit and sent home. Not helpful at all.

During my first appointment as a new patient, the doctor walked in and did not introcduce herself. She kept telling me to hold on while she took phone calls in the exam room and shouting to the staff in the office. she walked in and out the the exam room 3 times while i was explaining my concerns. she had 3 prescriptions written for me before even asking about my medical history/ skin care concerns. I found her to be very rude and impersonal. I asked her to check my body for possible problem areas, as my mom just had spots removed, and she barely glanced at me then told me she didnt see anything. When i asked her to look more thouroughly she said i had a big brown spot on my back that needed to be removed! (i have no spots on my back) I will never go back to her and i strongly discourage anyone to use her services. The staff wasn't particularly friendly either.

Dr. Ackerman is horrible! I once waited in her office for two hours for a laser treatment. When it was finally my turn she informed me that she couldn't do the laser treatment because the machine was broken! She told me I should check to see if the machine is working before I come! She also has very poor communication skills. I frequently have asked her questions, only to get answers that don't answer the question. She is extremely aloof and has an attitude. I feel as if she is trying to run a business, rather then a medical practice. She is always trying to get me to buy the products she sells in the office rather then write me a prescription. She is quite simply the worst doctor I have ever been to. Please don't waste your time with this flake.
