I worked with Dr. T for a few years and enjoyed my professional experience. He was always readily available for his clients and staff, either in an individual or group setting. He works 24/7.

In the door, out the door with no feeling of ease or genuine care. The staff was apathetic and barely welcoming. The Dr. himself was dry and also apathetic. The only good take away was his poster of "100 Rules to Live By" or something like this that I was reading while his face was buried in his computer...I should have taken a picture, that was more helpful than the appt. itself.
Worst part, we had a follow-up phone appointment, and the Dr. never called me. I have repeatedly called the office and left messages and have never heard back from anyone.
I cannot get my prescription refilled now (who knows if my pharmacist can even get through to their office) and I have been forced to find a new psychiatrist. What a waste of my time, energy, and money.

Dr. Michael Tolwin was my psychiatrist for over 14 years, until I had to move from Cali to Oklahoma. He is a very good listener, extremely intelligent, understood my personal problems, gave me excellent advice, prescribed an anti-depressant that turned my life around for the better, and his staff was always pleasant and helpful.

Horrible person, even more ridiculous to call himself a doctor. Don't want to put out negative energy unless it's for a great cause. He thinks he's gods gift to man kind, unfortunately not.

Dr. Tolwin has saved my son's life and given my husband and myself hope. He cares, he takes our calls when we need help, any time of day, any day of the week. He gave me his cellphone number and when I needed his help on Sunday because of a problem with our pharmacy, Dr. Tp;lwin called the pharmacy three times so our son could get the prescription he so desperately needed. I don't know of many doctors who give patients their cell phone, even less who would call you back on a Sunday. Every psychiatrist prior to this, just wrote our son off and said he was a lost cause. Dr. Tolwin is the only one who cares, and will keep trying with different medications. We recommend Dr. Tolwin to any parent who is dealing with a family member who has a mental illness. He cares, he is knowledgeable, he works with you, and he is accessible. On a scale from 1 to 10.

This office is run by the charm and friendliness of Gestapo prison staff. Expect ridiculously long waits even with an appointnent. Also, though can expect a few interesting characters at the psychiastrists office, this office overrun with many seemingly disturbed and homeless individuals. Further, Dr. Towlin is very unhelpful in difficult situations. I would never have come back here if not for my dire need of a refill on my prescription which he refused to approve for me at the pharmacy.

Just another doctor who has to rush through appointments to make his daily cash quota from the insurance companies. Didn't listen to me or my history but was quick to pull out the prescription pad and write away.

Dr. Tolwin is a kind, thoughtful, attentive, copious doctor. He was the only doctor to correctly diagnose and prescribe the most effective drug for my psychotic son. My son now is out of an institution and living a happy, near-normal life with me. May God bless you Dr. Tolwin, as you have blessed my son with a new life. - S. Weston

God save us from all the L.A. huggy/feely types who want to feel "loved" by their doctors. Dr. Tolwin is fine, informed and while he may not be the most cuddly guy on the block, who cares? He's a good doctor. Period. (As to these ratings, realize they are almost exclusively left by people with an axe to grind. I only found it because I was looking up his number and noticed it on the Google list. I'm sure his satisfied customer have better things to do than leave ratings -- like me -- but I couldn't let someone trash a perfectly good doctor). -- John K.
