His nurse is moody. It's not right when I have a problem I have to wait six weeks to get in to see him. I'm a registered massage therapist and so many of my clients that see him are prescribed muscle relaxers and pain killers. Not everyone wants to mask the pain some actually want to find the source and fix it. I agree with another post I saw he sucks when it comes to women's issues and not helping. I went to him because my blood sugar would drop and I didn't m ow why he assumed it's cause I'm morbidly obese come to find out it was from a medication I was on. Once I stopped the medication the problem stopped.
Also instead of referring to a specialist he just gives pills and thinks he's a pro when he's not you can't know everything that's why we have specialists

Felt inclined to leave a review now that I have a new family doctor in a different city and am realizing just how awful my experiences with Dr. Perkin were. He can be kind and caring and has decades of experience, but seems to have a lot of preconceived notions -- particularly about women's health -- that result in very poor treatment. I saw him for stomach and breast pain; both times was told "it's likely just stress". I now know I have PCOS and have regular monitoring appts with a cancer clinic. A family member went to him with severe post-mastectomy pain and was told "try to relax more"; no mention from Dr. Perkins about post-mastectomy pain syndrome, a chronic pain disorder. When I asked for birth control, he told me I shouldn't lie about my reasons (which were extreme period pain - I was not sexually active) and lectured me on "having too many partners". Cannot describe how isolating and infantilizing my experiences with him were.
If you're not interested in keeping up to date on current standards and new treatments, just retire already.

Great doc! Been with him ever since I married my husband seven years ago and like everyone else says, makes you feel very at ease and comfortable. Plus, he has a sense of humour. Just a great guy all around.

He has been our doctor since he first came to Strathroy and we can't say enough good things about this person. I am never rushed and never made to feel like I am intruding. Time is always taken to explain things and if necessary more than once. My kids and grandchildren are never uncomfortable about any visit no matter what it is. His sense of humor, relaxed manner and willingness to LISTEN make him Aces to us. You cannot retire until you are cloned!!!!

Although Dr. Perkin is not our family doctor, I have had need with Dr. Perkin a couple of times. He was knowledgable, compassionate & caring. Therefore he knew what he was doing & kept asking: "Everything okay?" I felt very comfortable with him. Dr. Perkin seems to know about your family, where are they now, what are they doing, etc. He takes time to relax you & then explain what is going to happen. In Strathroy, we are very fortunate to have MDs' such as Dr. Perkins & Dr. Buma.

Our family doctor for 30 years. He is the best doctor ever. Very smart but will refer to specialist if needed. Always takes his time and has a good sense of humour. My kids have moved away from Strathroy but will drive any distance, just to see Dr Perkin. Hope he never retires.

Dr. Perkin is great family Dr. I was so greatful and lucky to become a patient of his Practice when my former Dr. became ill. Dr. Perkin was my OB Doctor formerly and he was so compassionate, so helpful for both myself and my husband. Just Love Dr. G Perkin, can't say enough great things about him!

Love this man! He delivered me and then also delivered my daughter. I, too, would be devastated should he ever retire. He is a wonderful person and an amazing doctor.

I believe Dr. Perkin that your patients adore you because of your patience, caring and nuturing that you give to others. All patients have one doctor, that in later life, they remember fondly as having a major influence on them.I am sure you will be remembered by many!He delivered my son and years later came back and accepted us as patients again!Bless your heart! Love his humour too!
