Never again. Horrific pain. Dr. Made no recommendations for sedation. Everything following my lithotripsy has been a disaster up to the now potential of kidney failure.

Completely closed-minded to my concerns. I specifically asked him about what I felt my symptoms may be related to and he wrote off my concerns as “highly unlikely”. My ailment is not just another cookie-cutter complaint that you can throw antibiotics at, sir. I was correct, by the way, and suffered through MONTHS of unnecessary agony that could’ve been avoided if he had been more open-minded.

Stay away... don’t book with him just because he’s the first available urologist!!

Dr. Ugarte said that he would come and see our family after the procedure was over. Never heard from him. Other Dr's came in 3 times and asked if we had talked with him only to find that he left for the day. His staff was very rude and condescending, would not use him again. Will look for another provider. When issues came up after the surgery the hospital staff called him for directions he said to send the person home with the issues remaining, and to see him in the morning. Later he called and told them to more it to Monday(4 days).

Dr. was going to call me on a Friday with my biopsy results and I had to call on Monday to ask for my results. Staff not helpful. My request to fax my medical information to another clinic was not performed (at least the other clinic called and said they had not received my medical records) and I had to call a second time to get the information faxed. When attempting to talk to the on-call doctor (not Dr. Ugarte) on a Saturday, I was told to call back in 30 minutes if I had not been contacted by the oncall doctor. I called 3 times before the on-call doctor contacted me.

Definitely not a good listener. Gave me pain pills and sent me out the door - not exactly helpful. Receptionist was insanely rude to myself and other patients. If this stone doesn't pass in the next couple of days, I will be looking for a new doctor.

Diagnosed with prostate cancer. Ugarte detailed treatment options and recommended radical surgery. Research proved his recommendation to be sound and correct. Great surgical results. Great nerve sparing technique. Answered all questions and gave god pictue of what to expect.

The lazer TURP operation he performed did not result in the expected improvement that he promised. I still have to take Flomax to urinate satisfactorily. He indicated that it was my fault for going too often and that I should wait until it hurt before urinating. Not what I wanted to hear. I was told by Dr. Ugarte that I would be able to take medications for my COPD that normally interfere with urination. I have had to quit the most effective one, Spiriva. Dr. Ugarte has a pleasent demeanor, but I'm never sure he is really listening to my concerns . All in all, I went through a rather serious procedure that has a long recovery and did not get the promised results.
