I had a TKR by Dr. Huddleston in 2017 and I was very pleased with the outcome. I found Dr. Huddleston to be knowledgeable, thorough in his communication of what to expect , and good follow-through following surgery. And he was present each morning during my hospital stay. I had full confidence in Dr. Huddleston and when I needed a THR in 2020 I went back to Dr. Huddleston and he did not fail me. I am very pleased with the results of both surgeries.

Dr. Huddleston exceeded my expectations. My hip had been damaged and screws put in 41 years ago. When it came time for hip replacement I needed someone with the skill and experience to step up. Six weeks ago he and the entire Stanford staff did just that. Stepped UP! Now I am a 1 out of 10 in pain. walking well and PT is fun and exiting. I highly recommend Dr. H! Stan from Fresno.

I went to Dr. Huddleston for a revision TKR the operation was not successful, I never got over 80 degree bend and always had pain. Dr. Huddleston seemed unconcerned about my complaints, spent very little time with me. After 3 years I finally went to another surgeon, Dr. Belcher, who performed another revision. He found that Dr. Huddleston had used miniscus that was 2 times too small and the patella was grossly to large. I would not recommend Dr. Huddleston. Highly recommend Dr. Belcher.

At first meeting Dr. Huddleston, he seemed concerned, knowledgable but a little over confident. But I said, confidence is good. After having my hip revision, due to I had the metal on metal previously done somewhere else. Even after 2 yrs, I am still having chronic pain. After going back to Dr. Huddleston, he acts like I am making this up and has a very arrogant attitude about my pain. He referred me to psychiatry and basically has written me off. Maybe he needs to go see a psychiatrist for his "God complex." I would never refer anyone to Dr. Huddleston.

I had a hip revision from Huddleston and now I am in more pain than I was before. Also reading his medical notes, my sister (my guardian angel here on earth since the passing of my husband,) and I were never told I could be worse off getting the revision, etc. etc. I know before surgery, you read and sign off that you may die, but all this other detailed mishaps were never discussed to us before surgery. His honesty in his medical notes that I have copies of were not accurate. Plus the care I received after the surgery was horrifying. The epidural machine, giving me the pain medication failed, so I layed there for 2 1/2 hrs in excruciating pain from the hip revision surgery. My sister and teenage kids were there trying to get a nurse or doctor to help me get pain medication. I have now gotten another set of x-Rays on the revision of my hip and another surgeon has said he would've put the revision 25 percent in a different position and it was impinging on the illiopsoas tendon. Once Huddleston is finished with his surgery, he is finished with you as a patient. He is arrogant and does not believe you can have chronic pain. His over confidence and arrogance led me to believe he was an excellent surgeon, but don't let it fool you. Huddleston had prescribed Neurontin through an IV and it had given me major slurred speech. Huddlestons reaction, oh it is common, it will pass in a few days. My sister had investigated and discovered that Neurontin does cause slurred speech. My slurred speech didn't clear up until 1 1/2 yrs later. In fact, the nurses were asking me if I had had a stroke. Huddleston prescribed the same Neurontin when I left the hospital, knowing I had major slurred speech from a side effect of this medication. It's been 3 yrs and I am in worse pain than before Huddlestons hip revision. Please check on other surgeons who will show some compassion and not have the arrogance n over confidence like Huddleston. I would never want this treatment or misfortune to happen to anyone else.

I saw Dr Huddleston in 2013 for a misaligned knee replacement. He told me I needed a revision and that he would only have to replace the plastic disc. When he "got in there" he told my husband that he was surprised that I could walk on it he found such a mess. He ended up replacing the whole thing. After surgery while still in the hospital there was very poor followup and I returned home without medical equipment i had specifically requested and told would be here. It was a huge fiasco. Fast forward less than a year, I feel on my revised knee and over the next month started having severe pain and so returned to his office. This time he was arrogant and did not listen to me about my knee pain,instead telling me that it was my spine that was causing the knee pain. My primary care doctor had ordered an MRI due to pain in the front of my hip starting at my groin.( I have had both hips replaced too). The radiologist dx me with Iliopsoas bursitis with muscle atrophy. Dr Huddleston took more exrays and said my knee was perfect and that he would not do anymore surgery on my knee unless it was infected. He referred me for a spine MRI and to see a physiatrist. I feel like he didn't listen to me and had his mind made up before he even examined me which was very brief. My knee keeps me awake and hurts constantly along with the iliopsoas bursitis. I will not be returning to his office. we drove over 3 hours one way to see him. He is too full of himself and did not want to admit I could have any problems with HIS work on my knee!!

He is an abusive and arrogant person. Do not trust him. Stay away from him. One total knee replacement turned into seven different surgeries. I can barely walk as the result of him careless work.

I called Stanford after having spent months seeing a local doctor that did not take my hip pain seriously based on my age (he felt I was too young for a hip replacement). By the time I saw Dr. Huddleston my hip had totally collapsed and I was in constant - and unbearable!! - pain. Dr. Huddleston gave me back my life! He was kind, thorough and extremely knowledgeable. I did not know I was born with hip dysplasia but he diagnosed that and, thankfully, had a great deal of experience dealing with the uniqueness of hip replacements due to dysplasia. From day 1 in the hospital I felt better! Dr. Huddleston came to see me himself each morning when I was in the hospital as well as a Fellow. All were great! Recovery went extremely well. I used a walker for 2 weeks and then a cane for 1 week. At that point I was walking on my own and feeling good! As I type this, it is 5 months post surgery, I'm on vacation and feeling EXCELLENT!! I rhighly ecommend Dr. Huddleston !!!

During 11-09 I was at the Stanford Med. Center to see Dr. Huddleston for a hip injury. I had no understanding of his findings, sadly I never received any clarification. His assistant returned and handed me a prescription for a wheelchair for three months. I told her I thought the doctor was going to return. I had traveled over 5 hours to see the doctor and I had some questions. I was told he was busy! I also offered to provide my MRI report of a rotator cuff injury. I didn’t know if I would be able to physically maneuver the wheelchair. I was told he did not do shoulders…that was not the question! My referring doctor rewrote the prescription for an electric chair because I was not physically capable. People in my hometown shared their experiences with me about Soar Medical Group in Redwood City. About one month after being in a wheelchair, I have been cleared and I now have a clear understanding of what happened. My insurance was billed more then 800.00

Dr. Huddleston's specialty is joint replacement surgery. He has very good training and the palcement of my hip replacement was perfect. I found him thorough and easy to communicate with in the clinic. Sometimes I briefly saw a Fellow (post-residency} or resident first. In the hopital I saw very little of him. Fortunately all of the Fellows who provided most of the care were good to excellent. He even read my suggestions and thanked me 3 times.
