Do not go to this doctor!!!! I went in because I have a mole that has recently started itching and changed color. Dr. Gurney shaved it off and sent it to a lab for biopsy. However, he was in such a damn hurry that he gave me the novocaine shot and within 20 seconds or less started shaving off the mole. I felt ALL of it!!!! Everyone knows you have to give novocaine a little time to kick in, not just give the shot and IMMEDIATELY start cutting!!! Then he immediately cauterized it and I felt a severe burning sensation, and he said "Oh, that's normal". No doctor, it is only normal if you do not give the novocaine at least one minute or so to work!!! He was in such a hurry to get me out of the office that I felt like a car going to the shop, not like a human being. Then, I asked him about my dry skin and without even looking at it he wrote a prescription (Protopic) that can cause skin cancer, and he didn't even tell me the risk! My pharmacist had to tell me!! Rude office staff too!

I'm surprised to see the comments here- Dr. Gurney is very good and extremely efficient and I'm happy that I can get in to see him because of that. His office staff have always been good with me and I have left other doctors because of the rudeness of their staff. I think they are great. Dr. Gurney diagnosed me with shingles after Inova- had mis-diagnosed it as a spider bite.

First of all the staff in that office were not friendly rather rude.I saw Dr.Gurney for my coldsore but he gave me the ointment that it shouldn't be used for coldsore! It was witten all over! When I found out about it I called the office wheather he can give me different medicine ( I just spent $100 for Dr. Gurney, I didn't want to find different Dr.) The answer was NO! The receptionist who answer the phone was extrmely rude and said "KEEP USING IT" but how can I keep using the drug it's not right? Hope people who plan to visit that place read this first. FIND SOMEONE ELSE!!!

I took my teenager to Dr. Gurney for teenage acne and mole examinations. We've been to his office a few times. Usually, he is right on time. His staff is competent; they are not chatty. Maybe some reviewers see the staff as rude, but I don't. They answer the phone quickly, make your appointment, don't leave you on hold endlessly, and handle the payment. Many doctor's offices are phony, friendly but not efficient. The doctor himself is corteous and professional. He spends more than enough time discussing the situation. Dr. Gurney is a pleasant doctor. He's not a show off with his office. He is a professional! I would definitely recommend Dr. Gurney

Paid $500 to have allergy 'tests' done. Revealed absolutely NOTHING. This doctor knew I had no insurance at the time; performed useless tests anyway. His staff was downright nasty about paying (which I fully intended to do). I this woman was using Mafia tactics. I went to Dr. Gurney for many years, thinking this was the standard for American care. MY BAD.

I've paid $150 of copays for 3 visits and have seen the doctor all of 12 minites. He is quick, I'll say that, but bedside manner is non-existant. The staff is fast talking and offers no sense of caring; they can hardly be bothered to look at you. It was one of the THE most uncomfortable visits to any doctor I have ever had. I had a great sense of someone who knew that he had to run X number of patients through the door on a daily basis in order to meet whatever goals he has established for himself. I felt like a lab rat. This cream better solve the problem so I don't have to go back.

I wouldn't recommend this doctor to anybody close nor do I will visit him again. All he cares about is your money nothing else. Moreover, he has got the worst customer service ever with some old ladies with their jerky faces (find another job Lynda). I can't stand a minutes in that office again. combine them with Kaser Permanate and you will need to go to rehab or see another doctor. He will make sure you will show up at least 3 times to his office just so that he can collect your money. Trust me. Find another doctor
