Put off surgery for 2 yrs, dealing with Dr. Hoski. He attempts any other solutions before surgery. Takes time with patient, and does not 'sell' anything. He gives you facts and options and lets you decide. After finally calling him asking him for further help, surgery was scheduled after the epidural series. Duel laminectomy, hardware and fusion in L5/S1 levels. Dr. provides a free 2hr class on what to expect, prior to surgery. It was excellent information! I listened and was off walker the day I came home from hospital. No therapy recommended due to my eagerness to do as instructed prior, during, after the procedures. Typing this just 17 days after surgery and would let Hoski work on me again if needed. I'm overweight and Dr. hardheaded, but listened to instruction this time. It has paid off for me letting Dr. James Hoski do the procedures! It's scary, but listen to him and his staff and you should have excellent results as I did.

Must be the best spinal surgeon in this area! I saw 2 dr's prior to Hoski. Dr. Hoski did not rush thru my appt, he listened carefully to my concerns, & helped me weigh out my options, including all risks & rewards. I chose surgery in the end & happy to say I am currently pain free. The office is run like a well oiled wheel. Q's were always returned in less than 24hrs from his nurses & admin. staff. And for the record, his office only charges $10 (not a grand like the "genius" below stated) to complete STD forms which is NOT out of the ordinary. Go to Hoski, you'll be very pleased with the results.

Love this doctor. I've seen him for a neck injury and my mother just had her lower back fused. I highly recommend him. He was informative, skillful, and had a great bedside manner. Very caring and not overly anxious to put anyone under the knife.

I had my back surgery in Feb of 2008. I was so nervous of this procedure do to the horror stories one hears of back surgery. Let me say that Dr. Hoski was the BEST thing that couldve happened to me. He was always professional and very informative. Spoke to me with kind and helpful words and the surgery was a GREAT SUCCESS!!! I would highly recommend him to do ANY SPINE SURGERY!!

Dr. Hoski performed back surgery on me last year...surprise Im back this year with the same disc pain. So he looks at my mri...then goes on to look like hes made a mistake..so I start asking questions were he quickly turns from a semi-friendly face to instant jerk. When he informs me he needs to do the same surgery over I ask about my percentages of getting better (im 22 and have no kids...yet) he throws my mri down on the table and starts to insult me like I have no right to ask questions. I was shocked. He looked at me and said you know what..Im getting a bad vibe. you need to go see someone else. I wont see you again or do your surgery...so I get referred out to an actual neurosurgeon who cant see me for over a month...do you think dr. hoski gives me enough meds to last until then...(oh yea Ive got a level 10 on 10 pain scale) nope...he says that isnt his problem. so no one will see me now due to his note. what happened to the hipocratical oath? now im left to suffer until jan.

Do not see Dr Hoski if you are trying to get disability, as he charges $1000.00 to complete a form that is 2 1/2 pages of check blocks or fill in the blanks. Most doctors charge nothing, or else will schedule an office visit for completion.
