Dr. Alderfer and receptionist Stephanie are the most professional you would care to have involved in your most intense health care needs. Never at any time have I felt my most intimate information would be revealed. My understanding as of Wednesday, February 13, 2013 is that Dr. Alderfer is leaving the practice at Valley Behavioral Health. I will not consider staying with that practice. It is my intention to sign a records release to Dr. Alderfer to be transferred into his new practice, wherever that may be.

Dr. Alderfer is the best pychiatrist that I have ever had. Your first impression will be that he lacks feeling and doesn't care about you because he has such a serious tone and voice but that is far from what he is. He is concerned with how you are handling life and if your medication is working. He is very logical and methodical in his approach to your care. He accesses you and tries to determine the best medicince that will be right for you. He is concerned about your ability to get that medicine. So he guides you towards programs and low cost generics to find a cost effective way to make you better. Talk to him and you will see how kind he is. But he is a doctor. One ot he best. Ssomeone I would trusst with my mind.

Dr. Alderfer is the best psychiatrist that I have ever had especially when it came to handling bipolar disorder. He does not treat you like a nutcase but with respect. He gives you confidence in his knowledge because he shares what he knows with you. He is not a very conversational man. But he is very logical in his approach. You leave his office knowing why he has chosen to treat you with the medicine he has put you on and his desired results. I deeply appreciated this man. Any patient would be lucky to have him as their doctor.

Very intelligent. He knows his stuff. Willing to involve you in your treatment plan and answers questions well, as long as you clearly ask them and show you are interested. Listens to my concerns and issues. He doesnt do counseling, meds only, but is very good.
