I had a breast augmentation in May 2016, and I interview three other board certified plastic surgeons in the Twin Cities, and he was hands-down the most experienced, honest and kindest surgeon I encountered. My husband was incredibly opposed to the surgery, but Dr. Tholen used his sense of humor to try to warm him up to the idea. Prior to children I was a 34DD, and was left wearing a 36AA cup after kids. Dr. Tholen said I had virtually no breast tissue left, and what was there was just a gland and loose skin. Dr. Tholen said I was borderline on needing a lift, and I other surgeons said I should get a lift. Dr. Tholen urged me to consider getting larger implants, and doing a lift later if the result still left me with sagging tissues. I trusted his advice, and went with 410/425 CC implants, and I'm not kidding you, my breasts are perfect now. My nipples are in the center of my breasts, natural slope, and no "half melons on a wall look" that I was terrified about. His staff was kind and friendly, especially Crystal and Tracy. They were kind and understanding about my reasons behind the surgery, and were always there when I had questions post-op, and they called to check up on me too. Dr. Tholen is probably one of my favorite medical professionals I've ever encountered, and I'm so glad I trusted him!

I had a breast augmentation done by Dr. Tholen and I couldn't be happier with the way they turned out. He is a very nice man and talented surgeon who I would recommend to anybody.

Put all of my trust in dr Tholen for a breast augmentation and he did a FABULOUS job!! I absolutely love my new breasts! I was extremely flat before and had wanted this for years. Dr Tholen is extremely professional and an amazing surgeon, I would recommend him to anyone!
