I was operated for appendectomy. On the 4th.of sept. She is such à Caring doctor.
Explained everything with calmness holding My Hand before the surgery in op & after.
A great big thanks to Er-or and staff on 4th floor. I couldln't have in better hands

She was amazing! She took my appendix out and her bedside manner is great. So calming and thorough. She and her team are really relaxed and professional and it really helps when heading into surgery. She also really takes the time to reassure and explain everything. Aside from the appendectomy, she was also the first doctor to have noticed my scoliosis (I’m 24, my pediatrician or GP really should have caught something years ago). After the surgery, all of the nurses who changed my bandages remarked on just how neat and small the scars were, which is very impressive when you consider the fact that my appendix had burst and I had tubes coming out of me for 2 weeks. I’ve seen and heard of other people who have had similar experiences. More often than not their surgeon was not able to preform the procedure laparoscopically and the scars can be quite large. She is really knowledgeable and it shows in her work; one of my scars is practically invisible now and it’s only been a few months. Coming back for my post-op appointments with her, she can run a bit behind in her schedule, but it’s nothing ridiculous. Overall, I could not have asked for a better surgeon.

In 2015 she diagnosed me with two small gall stones. Instead of suggesting a follow up, she changed my medication from Nexium to Pantaloc for 2 months. Changing my meds didn't help because I have had GERD for 25 years and told her this. After the fact, I was told by a doctor of another hospital that once one has gall stones the chance of them increasing is 100%. My health problem and abdominal pain grew worse over the next 1 1/2 years, with constant and increasing abdominal pain. It culminated in 3 separate visits to another west end Montreal hospital. The 3rd visit ended in emergency surgery to remove my gall bladder which was completely full of stones, infected and about to rupture. My abdomen was fully infected and I had to stay in the surgical ward for 4 days, with continuous IV's of antibiotics, fluids and morphine. My surgery was on December 22 in the evening . I had to stay in hospital from December 23 to December 26th because was unable to eat, was vomiting and had continuous infection . I am now at home with continued oral antibiotics, pain killers and laxatives. Dr Ngoc-Van Nguyen is an attentive and caring doctor. Would have been much better if she had suggested a follow up with herself or even suggested seeing a specialist. I lost many days of unpaid work and lots of costly medication. I strongly suggest a follow up or referral to another doctor, if she does not suggest this herself. Unfortunately I learnt the hard way.

Super Docteur. Je suis très a risque de développer un cancer du sein et Dr Van est très rassurante et assure un suivi serré. Elle répond a toute mes questions et inquitudes. Elle n'est pas très ponctuelle, mais vu ses compétences, je ne m'en formalise pas!

I thought that good doctors didn't exist in Quebec until I met her. My mom had many follow-up before and after the surgery. My mom had more than 5 surgeries in the past so she was really worried about this one but Dr. Nguyen took her time to explain her and comfort her that she was going to be ok. She is fast and a really nice person. If you are undergoing a surgery or one of your family members, you are in good hands! no need to worry at all
