Glad that he is gone and no longer a Doctor here in Ear Falls

I enjoy Dr Botha and my son loves him. He his great with children, always making my son feel at ease when he sees him. He has taken me and my health issues very seriously, although sometimes I need to push a little to get him to look into things or double check things he recommends (medications etc). I like how he adds humor to things, but I understand that some people do not enjoy his humor, although I do, it puts me at ease. He is very to the point and says it as it is, no beating around the bush with him. I am very happy to have him as my current doctor :)

Love him as a doctor, he is straight forward and has a very extensive knowledge. His humor is great, some people take it the wrong way sometimes.

Had him as a dr in emergency and diagnosed with a sinus infection when in fact it was a severe kidney infection which was confirmed by a family dr later. His bedside manner needs much improvement as slapping a person in the head is not a proven method of diagnosing in my opinion.

He made me feel very stupid for asking the question i asked. I told him my problem and he responded with a very inappropriate "SO". Would NEVER!!! reccomend him to ANYONE!!

He is cut to the chase. He does not send you for test that are not needed and if you have questions, he takes the time to answer them. He delivered our first child and we chose to have him deliver our second (which is due anytime now) over going with the mid-wife co-operative. He is more hands on and gives more personal service than any Dr. I have had before.

Dr. Botha is our family's doctor, and we see him for the usual assortment of illnesses and injuries, as one would expect in a family with four young children. For all visits, he has been prompt, courteous, and helpful. In the rare times that he did not have adequate information (usually relating to referrals to specialists), Dr. Botha followed up promptly. Also, his treatment for some chronic illnesses has been quite aggressive, much to our pleasant surprise. We're very happy. I would highly recommend him as a family doctor.

My two girls really like Dr. Botha and feel at ease with him. They enjoy his funny and happy personality. You can really tell that he likes kids. To me that is very important. I personally also like him because he does not overmedicate. He always answers any questions I have. I recommend Dr. Botha.

I personally would not see him but my daughter abosolutely adores him. He is the first doctor she's seen here in Alberta that she isn't terrified of. When we leave his office she always says "He's a nice man momma.". And that's good enough for me. He's never steered us wrong when it came to her. I do find that he's not afraid to tell me that there is nothing he can do for her when it's just a virus and pills won't work. And I appreciate that, who wants to pump their kids or themselves full of useless medication.
