Dr. Paprosky is a specialist. I am very happy with the results of my hip replacement surgery. However, I only saw him at the initial appointment. I am not sure he was even in the room during surgery (I never saw him, though he did speak with my husband after surgery). I only saw his residents and assistants. So, if that doesn't bother you, then Dr. Proprosky is the doctor for you. My other complaint is that there was some mixups and fall throughs with scheduling post surgery coumadin care, home health care, etc. because I had my surgery at Rush Medical Center in Chicago but saw the doctor in his Central DuPage Hospital. There is not the reciprocity you might expect between the two hospitals with the one doctor. Often I felt like I was on my own. I survived and my hip is great!

This is a very knowledgeable surgeon. He was able to fix a damaged hip for me that no other surgeon could have handled. (In my opinion)

The best ortho surgeon I have seen. I would not have any other surgeon touch me. He has corrected the mistakes of my prior surgeons

Dr. Paprosky specializes exclusively in primary and revision total hip and knee arthroplasty. Many of the surgeries he performs are technically extremely difficult and deal with cases of the most severe nature, correcting problems such as massive bone loss in both the femur and the acetabulum. He teaches his trade all over the world and is held in the highest esteem by his peers. He is what I call a teachers teacher.
