I wanted to be a patient so badly. I'm in excruciating pain every day from scoliosis.
I'm a person. Here I am only as good as my insurance company. They will not see me due to the misconception that they won't be paid.
ChampVA would of paid you, but your staff refuses to acknowledge this despite the multiple calls from representatives at ChampVA. I hope you never give treated the way I have! I just wanted to be a patient.

Dr. Stefanis has exceeded my expectations over the last 20 years of treating my ailments. He performed an cervical fusion on me in 2004 and a lumbar micro disc in 2009. I had great results from both surgeries. I highly recommend him!

staff-very rude and insensitive; doctor doesn't have time for you and doesn't need your business.

I have been associated with Dr. Stefanis off and on for more than thirty years. My first encounter had to deal with a head injury and he took very good care of me. The next was related to my falling down a partial flight of stairs where I had a hernaited disc which he repaired and I was able to continue to work. The next time I began to have lots and lots of pain in my neck and did'nt understand why. As it turned out I had damaged disc in my neck, as a result, Dr. Stefanis went in made repairs and the pain was gone the day of the surgery. I began to have pain in my lower back. Dr. Stefanis ran test and found that I had had a disc to collapse. The only way to take care of it was to go in and repair it.I was looking for a better quality of life without constant pain. He explained to me that my recovery would only be 50/50. I was not able to got back to work, but that was okay because I was almost 65. I trust him and he has always taken very good care of me.

I had 2 cervical spine fusions in 2004 by Dr.Stefanis. When he completed my surgery he was finished with me. I continued to have pain, neuropathy in my right arm and limited range of motion in my neck. The x-rays they ordered to check the hardware in my cervical spine was only ordered for a lateral view and every thing looked normal. My pain specialist ordered a series of x-rays from multiple views; that's when the problem was found.Dr. Stefanis put the plate in crooked which limited my range of motion to my neck, now, 9 years later, my bones are deterating, I have spinal stenosis and a hemamangioma on one of my vertibre, there are spurs growing from the graft which took forever to fuse and I suffer from severe headaches, burning down my back and right arm and neuropathy to my rt. arm. When he realized he put the plate in crooked, he wanted to take it out immediately and charge me again. He will never do surgery on me again in this lifetime. I can't imagine what he would do 2nd time.

Dr. Stefanis successfully alleviated all of my back and leg pain in March 1997 when he repaired my ruptured L5-S1 disc without fusion. He took several days to test to be certain of the surgical site and plan. I have been pain free ever since for almost 14 years. A blessing!!!
