Dr. John Thiel performed a routine gynaecological laparoscopic surgery on my Mother, and after suffering an accidental perforation of a vital organ, and enduring 4.5 months of agonizing sepsis, she lost her precious life. She died on December 3, 2023 in the Regina General Hospital. Please do find myself, Jill
Cowan on the web, if you’d like to connect further to help you make an informed decision regarding any care you may have upcoming with Dr. John Thiel.

I've seen multiple gynecologists for chronic pelvic pain since I was a child. Not only was Dr. Theil the first Dr. to try and offer adequate pain relief and different solutions than advil and birth control, but when I asked for a hysterectomy in my 20's to relive my symptoms I was met with compassion, and an "absolutely, let's get you on the list- you've tried a lot of unsucessful treatments and have suffered enough." I was so greatful that his biggest concern was NOT about my fertility, which I made clear was not a concern for me, but about my health and quality of life. I'm so unbelievably greatful to have such a compassionate doctor. The surgery went well, I bounced right back and feel so much better!

Dr thiel is one of the best practicing obgyns I have ever been to. I had a very complicated birth and had severe trauma with drs afterwards. I had a panic attack going to get an iud in a few months later because I was supposed to be with dr carter and everything was changed up because of a storm and he was standing in for her. He came in to talk to me before the procedure and made sure I was comfortable the entire time going and and coming out for it. He is one of the very few drs who has actually taken the time to listen and dive into my health issues and actually diagnosed me with pcos, and helped me find things that will work for me with it after all that as well. His office is always on time, and the ladies at the desk are very patient with customers, kind, and efficient. He listens, he’s very compassionate, and I wouldn’t suggest any one else.

Hands down the best doctor of any skins in this city. He was my OB when I was pregnant and saved my life and the life of my son. Many years later I was having some issues and was referred to see a gyno and he was patient, knowledgeable and kind. Did the procedure and took good care of me then. And again I needed some care and was lucky to get referred back to him. He has been so kind and compassionate with me and has done everything in his power to get to the root cause of the issue. When I began struggling with my GP I expressed how grateful I was that he listens to me and he asked why. I explained a bunch of things that I was struggling health wise and how my dr dismisses me as overweight and crazy. He ran tests and found some issues with my bloodwork. Told me to see my dr and what to say. When I was dismissed again he made a referral for me to a specialist. Also sent me for X-rays and referred me to a surgeon for sever back pain. He has been a god send for me when no one else would listen. Thank you Dr Theil. His team is is also incredible.

He was a fill in for my doctor to do a Colposcopy and I was terrified as it was, his nurse was absolutely wonderful but he didn’t say two words to me when I came in, laid down, put my legs up, nothing. Then grabbed the speculum and inserted it without a word to me. He was very rough, and had terrible bedside manner. In a situation where I’m expecting my doctor, to be met with one without and compassion was very discouraging.

Very knowledgeable and wanting to help get to the root of the issue. I expressed concerns and he addressed every single one, giving me options and explanations for each. I appreciate his honesty and support. Awaiting my endometriosis diagnosis surgery now.

Great doctor, he actually listens and offers solutions. Reassuring, very knowledgeable, and compassionate. I’m incredibly grateful to have him as my doctor, especially after most other doctors I’ve seen have dismissed not only what I was going through but also my concerns. He takes the time to explain not only the diagnosis but exactly how the prescriptions work, when to be concerned, and is extremely considerate of your previous experiences as well. Awesome doctor.

Dr Thiel did a endometriosis surgery in 2017 on me that went very wrong . He and his team members asked sorry but what else can be done I did had a very bad incision which took long time for recovery. One of my tubes were blocked .after surgery. There was no follow up ultrasound or anything. I had infection after surgery and he didn’t see me I ran to emergency and a doc prescribed antibiotics. I can never forget that incident.
