Dr. Smith has been our family doctor for 10 years and has been a very caring individual with our severe health problems. He listens carefully and makes sure that you get to see the specialists you need to see as quickly as possible. Unlike some other reviewers, we have never felt 'rushed out the door' and have always felt that Dr. Smith cares about us personally and that we are not just another chart in the tray. When reading these doctor reviews we feel it is important that everyone keep in mind that no one is perfect and we all have our bad days so if you have a problem with your doctor, discuss it with him/her and let them know how you feel as this is not a one-sided relationship...you must take responsibility for your own health situation and you may be pleasantly surprised with the results of an honest conversation with your doctor (and if not, find another one)!

Dr Smith was my Dr for a number of years until I moved to th West. I had been in a serious automobile accident and he visited with me in the hospital and his after care was terrific and he helped me through some very deep depression and I have nothing but praise for him and I surely miss him and his staff. Thanks Dr Smith

15 years ago, I very nearly died as a result of Dr. Smith's carelessness. I'd like to echo the sentiment of a previous review, that Dr. Smith wants to get you in and out as quickly as possible, and has no interest in finding the underlying cause of your symptoms. I went in for strep throat, and came out with a perscription for a drug used to treat bladder infections, which causes sore throat as a common side effect. I reacted very badly to this medication, and ended up in the emergency room having three litres of fludis pumped into me to bring me back. It's not that he doesn't know what he's doing, it's that he doesn't take the time to make the proper diagnosis. He'll have you out of his office as soon as he can think of a persciprion to write.

I have had Dr John Smith on several occasions as a substitute doctor for my regular doctor and have had the impression that he was more concerned with getting me out the door with a prescription than taking the time to do a thorough diagnosis. I found his manner perfunctory and dismissive. He has lost x-rays that I had and didn't seem to care. I had the unfortunate occasion to have him do minor surgery on me and felt traumatized afterwards. His manner was insensitive, rough, hurried and careless to the extent that he cut into me before the local anesthsetic took effect and his stitching was so rough that I almost passed out. I would rate my experience with Doctor John David Smith as the worst I have had in my fifty eight years. Judging by the other comment on this forum this seems to be a doctor who has very good days and very bad days and I have landed on his bad days. Or else there are two Dr John Smiths.

Brilliant Doctor, straight to the point, investigates anything that could be serious as quickly as possible and personaly ensures that other test centers are aware of any urgency. Tends to lean toward the caution side when suspecting things like Cancer, Diabetic, Hypertension and all other health altering abnormalities.I would likly be deceased now if not for him winning the arguement about weather or not a small Mold could me melignant or not, Hypertension and first stages of Diabetus cured by Dr Smith simply recomending an easy and non restrictive diet instead of medication, all cured. Our community is so very lucky that Dr Smith has decided to open his own gig with drop in Clinics. ( I do not trust Doctors oppinion's but this guy is bang on)

Dr Smith was my father's doctor and now is my doctor. He took excellent care of my dad even making a house call on Boxing day one year when my Dad had a serious problem. He has provided us with a tremendous clinic in the community.

He only seems to care about the money. He said that there was absoulutely nothing wrong with me, and i've been sick for over 3 years. He completely dismissed me, and mocked my opinions. I have just been diagnosed with kidney problems. He is extremely close minded.

My husbands Dr. and he has always been very professional and if he feels that something needs following up on he is able to get specialist appointments and test done in an amazingly timely fashion more so than most in our opinion. I've recommended him to my parents and my father has switched Doctors as a result. Has seen my child on many occassions and have always been very happy with him. It's great to have such a facility in the Lake Echo/Mineville area.
