Never on time. Wait times are 1 to 2 hours with no explanation for delay.Is kind and does try to help but is not using any of modern technology/systems to send or receive reports or keep up to date on current techniques or treatments. Spends time flipping through the files looking for reports. I have to make followup calls to ensure requests for tests/appointments have been sent in to various specialists or labs. No handwashing done between patients. Works long hours so sleeps at work and doses off during appointment with patients. Staff is rude and on personal calls a lot of the time.

Always late, poor time management. Talks too long with patients not about relevant information. Wouldn’t be able to diagnose anything without her blue book. Cleaning between patients does not happen.

Susanna has been my family physician since she opened shop in the Arnprior Hospital. Wait times are abysmal - but the care and attention you get once you're in is top notch. My family and I have had nothing but excellent service from Susanna. She's caring, considerate and involves you in treatment plans. Absolutely lovely woman.

She needs to retire, her knowledge is outdated and inaccurate. She is dismissive, biased, and quite frankly incapable of caring for any sort of legitimate medical concerns.
It has gotten to a point that it does more damage to visit her in an attempt to seek medical help than it is to just suffer in silence.

She needs help or to retire completely. Too busy to make good decisions. Over medicates. Over worked likely a great physician who needs a medical system behind her. Sleeps at work ? Works around the clock? She seems ok but she isn’t keeping up. I’d say the system is failing her and other medical professionals.

Dr. suzanna McCarthy is one of the worst doctors I have ever seen. She contributed to the death of my mother and wrongly diagnosed her with phenmonia and was treating her for that and the whole time my mom had lung cancer. Well my died in the hospital and drowned in her blood from a tumor erupting in her lungs. She was very unprofessional when she called me to tell me about her death. Also she has wrongly diagnosed my father so many times. And he is unable to take care of himself and has one leg and is a big guy. She sends him home to failure every time! Knowing we have 3 flights of steps he needs to get up. And that other neighber live in the building and he is a danger to himself and others. But yet she kicks him out of the hospital saying that they need the beds. Instead of working with him to set him up with long term care where he had a better chance to succeed and to make the most out of his life.
Dr McCarthy would fall asleep on my mother when she was in her office. My mom said she would almost like just nod off. Also making you patients wait for 3 sometimes 4 hours in the waiting room when some of them are chronically ill IS NOT OKAY!!!! Her office is outdated along with her knowledge. She sometimes spends an hour flipping through papers trying to find important information from other Doctors or specialist. She is the most unorganized person. I think she should loose her practice without even giving a chance to retire. She is phony in everyway possible and regret ever using her as a family doctor !

This doctor consistently has an indefinite wait time. Minimum one hour, usually 2 for BOOKED appointments. This has gone on for years. Not OK. Don't care what the knowledge level is or that she's "nice". The patients that will wait for hours need a friend that listens to them, not a physician. Inconsiderate to those that arrived on time and are in pain and may only need a moment with the doctor. Desperate people because they can't get another doctor easily. The receptionist was not pleasant nor apologetic for it either. Luckily I switched doctors.

Over the years it has become abundantly clear that Dr. Mccarthy needs to retire. Her medical knowledge is incredibly outdated, her views and treatment of patients antiquated, and she and her receptionist do not respect patient confidentiality. She has said some very inappropriate things about people in the LGBTQIA community, actively discourages against sexual health screening and is just scatter brained in general.
If you can find any other doctor, I would strongly advise you to.
I have been severely mistreated and traumatized by this doctor and am repulsed by how I have been treated as a patient.

Caring, insightful, sweet and intuitive, and a top doctor. I feel incredibly fortunate to have her as the family physician. She never judges/ very understanding and professional. The community is lucky to have a doctor like her.
