Dr. fell asleep multiple times during my annual exam - no apologies at all, even when I mentioned it to the nurse. I waited over 1 and 1/2 hours --he is known to always run over an hour or more late. Prescribed a medication that was at a significantly higher dosage than was discussed - its a good thing I noticed it. About a week later I called in a refill, they sent it to the pharmacy wrong and it took 5 days to get that all sorted out with me calling several times.

If you go to this Dr be prepared.
He does not do paperwork. Especially for SS.
Even if he tells you to file. And if you switch Drs. He'll charge you for your file to be transferred. Mine if 14 years. He wants $960. I just found out after 7 years, of him telling me to file SS. He never once sent in my medical file.
Now I'll be file a suit against him...

Excellent and knowledgeable physician. I highly recommend him. This physician is not afraid to spend time with his patients. He explains everything in detail and really cares about people. I have seen many physicians , I must say he is the best I have ever encountered.

Worst doc. Never sees his patients. Simply calls in meds. Staff is nice. He's lucky to have them.

Yes you may have to wait 20 minutes. But if you are looking for a thorough and knowledgeable physician than it is well worth the wait. You wait that time because he does not leave patients until he knows that he has given them the best outpatient medical care that he can provide. I've been going to him since I left my pediatrician (I am now 25 and live in Ohio). I refuse to get a new PCP in Ohio because I have trusted Dr. Stepanow since childhood and he has never disappointed me. I travel back to PA once a year to see Dr. Stepanow and would recommend him to any and everyone. I am a pharmacy intern and have seen my fair share of mediocre physicians (and the ridiculous Rx's that they write) and he is certainly not one of them.

Although he runs behind on scheduling, he is worth the wait. Dr. Stepanow's bedside manner and knowledge is second to none.

I always make my appts with Dr. Stepanow right after lunch or first thing in the morning. Unfortunately I always have to wait. However, he is well worth the wait. He takes his time with you and is very caring. His bedside manner is 2nd to none. And he is extremely knowledgable. I see a head and neck specialist for cancer I had 10 years ago and Dr. Stepanow shocked me with his knowledge of the type and the appropriate follow-up tests etc that I should be getting. He is far more thorough than my specialist and is not afraid to order test if he feels it necessary. Can't say enough about him.

Top notch. He spents a lot of time with each patient, so he is well-worth the wait. Second to none.

While this doctor is good at what he does, he has taken on far too many patients, and has a 6-8 week waiting list at any given time, often times referring patients to the ER when it is not an emergency. If you expect a reasonable wait time to see your doctor, you may want to consider a different PCP.
