Yeah, right, after a 30 minute wait (minimum), I love it when I'm trying to discuss something with the doctor, while he is typing on his wireless laptop, humming to the piped in religious music.
I feel so special.

He is certainly NOT one of the better doctors, simply because he still believes pills are the solution. He has never once tried to get to the root of any health issue, but rather push Big Pharma prescription meds and order tests. He actually told me he thinks pills are a good thing. Diet seems to be of no real concern and he has never engaged in any discussion with me on this issue, although I have tried.

He also likes heavy women --- while other doctors, specialists included, have told me in no uncertain terms "to lose weight*. He told me I'm perfect and that no one likes a woman that is too skinny and you need something to hold on to, etc. That makes me very uncomfortable to say the least.

I've also visited his practice for just a refill prescription, however have been told that I am expected to have an ECG or breathing test, or other test that I simply don't want, need or desire. Of course when I refuse, I have to listen to a 5 minute lecture of why I should have had the test.
It makes me think that this is a very lucrative business practice.

I also don't enjoy the departure procedure. I feel like a criminal trying to leave the office, unless I hand in any and all paperwork to the assistants, blood-work forms, prescriptions, so they can review it --- PLUS supply a urine sample (why not get the sample upon arrival)?
Yes, sometimes I do need to book an appointment, and I know what to do, I'm not a child and I just want to get the heck out of there and go home.

I wish Natural-paths and Homeopaths were covered by OHIP. Just imagine how healthy we would all be, PLUS the savings on the healthcare system.

My son has had Dr. Ola at Urgent Care a few times now and we love him. He is so great with the kids! When he comes in he makes conversation with my son and makes everyone feel at ease. He asked my son what was wrong and gives him a chance to respond... and listens. Then he'll ask me to fill in any gaps. My son has had a history of ear problems in his younger years and had grown fearful of doctors... except for Dr. Ola. I am thankful that our hospital has access to such a wonderful Dr.

Dr ola is absolutely the best Dr I ever had. He is very caring & companionate, he takes the time to listen to your symptoms & diagnosis you properly. Dr ola isn't afraid to sent you to a specialist if he isn't 100% sure what is going on. Sometimes the wait is a little long but he is worth the wait & if it was you, your child or a family member that they squeezed in cause of a sickness then you would mind waiting... Those squeezed in urgent visits push other people's appt back it's just common sense. Keep up the good work Dr Ola!!!! My whole family & I have been with Dr Ola for 8 years

I saw him in the ER, he was really nice and I thought he did everything he could to help my 5 month old son. He diagnosed him with a sleepy growth spurt, and he wasnt eating because he had RAD. WRONG! I wanted a second opinion and saw my doctor even though he didn't recommend it... My son was severely dehydrated and had bronchitis. Apparently a very sleepy sick child does not mean growth spurt. When my son went there, he needed an oxygen mask, what made him think the wheezing would steop when we went home? He acted professional, and nice but i could have lost my son if i would have taken his advice.

After many years of practice, his wife still has not learned the art of customer service or even basic human respect.

I am glad I have 3 app'ts for my physical cuz then I know he has had time to obtain all the results including blood work. I never have to wait. When my baby is sick, they always squeeze me in. Respect comes to those who give it! In order for the doctor to be paid to review your results he must see you -- its called billable time. Lawyers do it too -- it is how we function in society. We should not expect our doctors to work for free. We are blessed to have a caring doctor who doesn't push you out the door after 5 min... he actually cares and listens. I think it is wonderful that Dr. Ola can hire his wife to oversee the operations as this is a very economical solution when a family has children as they do. Welcome Dr. Ola and I hope you stay forever! I feel like a person and not just a chart. Bonus -- his charts are electronic and always has the most up-to-date info. right at his finger-tips! Keep up the Great Work!

I was lucky to actually have a choice of doctors. My family had been going to his practice since just after he opened. I have read the above comments and agree that Dr. Ola is a fantastic doctor. It was the manager and office staff that made me decide NOT to choose his practice. I was treated so badly during the new patient intake that I now go to a doctor in another city. I refuse to be treated like a non person! Friends have described similar feelings and experiences as well as taking excessive, time consuming, and unnecessary tests. (blowing and watching the fire man????)

omg... he needs to respect his patient's time a bit more. Too many appointments and exams, and prescription when isn't called for it. By the way, what a choice for wife! She is so rude and arrogant. I would look for another GP if I could.

Dr. Ola is very caring and considerate individual. He practices medicine amongst the best and has same day sick visits. His staff is very accomodating and not wasteful. I would recommend Dr. Ola to anybody, excellent Dr.
