Dr Safian was extremely rude and insensitive. If you don’t mind your dentist having an attitude I’m sure his work is fine. I’ve moved on.

Dr. Safian and his staff are amazing! Dr. Safian took his time to explain my son's procedure, he answered all our questions... we never felt rushed.

I was horribly anxious (as I always am at the dentist) and shortly I was shown that it was for no reason. He was in and out of my mouth and took two teeth without hurting me or taking forever. I'm super grateful!

I only write reviews to help people make good choices, so I pray this helps someone. I had a nightmare experience at 2 other dental offices. Which caused me to have so many current issues with my teeth. I was referred to Dr. Safian from another dentist who I will review at a later date. I have to say as a medically complex and therapeutic foster mother after reading one very negative review about this Doctor I was concerned and afraid to go to him. I prayed before I went, and I have to say there are always 2 sides to every story. I have been a mandated reporter for children over 15 years. I can honestly say I don’t think this man would deliberately inflict pain on a child or anyone. I will say this I can only speak on my experience, and I had to get a tooth removed that I had been in pain on and off for months.
I can’t begin to tell you how impressed I was from the time I entered the door from the warm greeting I got from both ladies at the front desk Yvonne and Mary. Also, January who was Dr. Safian’s assistant, this woman is amazing she help keep me calm walked me through everything from beginning to end. Then Dr. Safian came in made sure she covered everything with me, then got started right away. As God as my witness, I felt 2 sticks of the novacaine and that was it!!! I had to ask to see the tooth that was extracted because I didn’t believe it was out! Dr. Safian just smiled and said you are going to be just fine. I was truly in disbelief and continue to be because I still feel no pain after. Dr. Safian and his staff are AMAZING!!! You can tell that he has surpassed the limits of his skill. I pray God continues to bless this office with continued success.

If you want a skilled oral surgeon with good results - check. If you want a great staff - ABSOLUTELY. If you want great bedside manner - um, not exactly. My experience with this doctor (in terms of personality): I found him condescending, arrogant, rude and borderline nasty. He showed (me) no understanding nor did he keep in mind that I didn't go to school for oral care. He snapped at me when I asked questions, was sarcastic when I had a complaint - even though he told me to tell him of pain, and the list goes on. I did (with colorful language) explain my disappointment to his staff. They were great - so kind and caring. Dr. Safian did call to apologize, and took the time to listen to me. Hopefully, he meant what he said and took my input sincerely. He was pleasant during this conversation - if only he had shown it in his office. When I talked to my kids about it (they had their wisdom teeth taken out by Dr. Safian) - they laughed and said he treated them the exact same way years ago. I was shocked. I thought they liked him, but no, they were just happy that their procedure went well. I wish they had warned me. The rating is only for the basics - I think it would be fair to add a section for doctor's treatment of patient - I had to laugh to myself when I explained to him how terrified I was during the procedure - he said he would never have known by my calm behavior. I was shaking inside but I held it together. I laughed. Did I have to be an obvious nervous wreck to get better understanding? To sum it up, yes, I would recommend Dr. Safian to others - because he is good. I would suggest going in with a plan (before your visit) to ask that the doctor be on his nicest behavior - I know he has potential to be kinder because he did call me with concern.

Words can’t describe our experience with this doctor.

Let’s start at the beginning

1.- Before making the appointment.-
I called at least four times to ask what the best option was for my daughter so that she would not feel pain on a traumatic level.
The two options were to put her completely under or just partial anesthesia(Novocaine). I was willing to put her under but after asking several times, the lady on the phone said that the doctor felt that for kids( my daughters age ) the best option would be to keep her awake and give her novicaine. So, I asked if they can prescribe maybe something else to help her feel drowsy or sleepy. She said that he couldn't prescribe anything else but they can give her Nitrous(laughing gas) and that help her.

So, after much back and forth and much expression of concern, I was assured and reassured that the she wouldn’t be in pain during the procedure. With this in mind, we decided to go with Novocaine and nitrous (laughing gas )

2.- Day of the procedure.-
Parents were not allowed to be in the room while the procedure happened ( they didn’t tell me that) when I called to make the appointment. I wish someone would have communicated this with me before making the appointment.

3.- During the procedure.- (this was the worst part about it as a mom)

My husband and I were in the waiting area and we had to listen to my daughter screaming in the other room . Because the Novocaine WORE OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF SURGERY. The procedure took longer than he originally anticipated and instead of giving her more novocaine he let it wear off.

3.- After Surgery.- When we finally were allowed to go back and see her, my nine year old was shaking and crying because she was in a lot of pain. I asked to speak to doctor Safian to express my frustration of the lack of communication on their part. We went to a different room.He did listen for the first few minutes and after that he lost it on me.... He walked away from the room and yelled at me in front of the receptionist there :

His words.- MA’ AM I just have to tell you this YOU ARE NOTHING SPECIAL. I have a daughter, this lady right here ( pointing at the receptionist) she has children... YOU’RE NOTHING SPECIAL.

While he was yelling at me my daughter was screaming and crying her head off because she was in excruciating pain. ***THEY DIDN'T GIVE HER ANY PAIN MEDICATION POST SURGERY*** ( no Motrin or Tylenol)

If you’re reading this. DO NOT go there. While the receptionist was kind and attempted to disarm emotion, this doctor displayed a horrible bedside manner. The communication was poor at best and he had no ability to handle a frustrated mother (me) after he failed to properly communicate and set expectations.

Had Dr. Safian remove two wisdom teeth 4 days ago, he was prompt, friendly, and got those teeth out quickly. 4 Days later, and I have hardly had any pain, and the instructions they gave me have been excellent. I would recommend him to anyone.

After days and nights of excruciating pain, my primary dentist diagnosed an abscessed tooth. He sent me to an endodontist, which was really awful. She refused to give me a prescription for painkillers. So did my primary dentist. Apparently they are more afraid of the DEA than they are of being removed from their professional relationship....I was crying like a baby, sobbing, with tears running down my face. ;I had not slept in days, and the intense pain was horrifying.
She acted like I was some kind of junkie. Really? The original dentist (before the sadistic Dr) provided me with exactly four percocets. That got me through the night. The endodontist
referred me to Dr. Safian. He got me. He was wonderful, focused, He and his
fabulous tech, January, were great, caring, and practical. I have a script from doctor Safian giving me 12 percocets. I have only needed one. I heal up well. I might be able to turn in the rest.

I recently had all 4 wisdom teeth pulled and couldn't have been happier with Dr. Safian and his staff. I am always nervous about doctors and heavily rely on reviews and don't think these do him justice! I only needed 1 out but chose to have 4 on my own doing, he never tried to push it but would do whatever I wanted. I stayed awake for the surgery (yes, I'm crazy) and he was gentile throughout the whole process, talking me through when a tooth was out and if he ran into any issues. My only complaint is they don't give you laughing gas unless you request it, so ask if you want it! After surgery I got a small infection and his nurse talked to me on the phone, was extremely helpful in talking through my symptoms and getting medication sent over to the pharmacy so I didn't have to miss work to come in. The front office also sent my claim in for preapproval so the whole payment process went super smoothly.
