I thought I would let anyone reading know that I got a letter today stating that Dr. Hogan has closed her practice. I felt she did a good job for me (other than punctuality, though I didn't have the problems some others have noted here). I wish her the best.

I read the reviews but didn't figure it really could be that bad. It was worse. Her staff is flippant, she is NEVER on time. I couldn't schedule appointments because I'd have to find a babysitter for 4-5 hours just to go to a 20-minute appointment. They would also call me the week of and say the appointment needed to be changed. And she wouldn't prescribe enough drug to get me through til the next appointment--then refused to fill it even when I called. My 'scheduled' appt was within a week, and she still wouldn't fill it. Why didn't she just give me the correct amount in the first place? And her secretary was completely flippant about it. It's just not worth it--there are plenty of well qualified and good doctors out there where you don't have to put up with this crap.

I have mixed feelings about Dr Hogan. I've been seeing her for years and the first couple years were not good. She said some very insensitive things to me and rarely made eye contact and would not take my opinion into consideration. I recently found out she went through a period of post-partum depression which I think explains things because she has gotten alot better in the last couple years. More friendly, smiles, makes eye contact, listens to what I have to say. But she is ALWAYS behind on appointments by at least an hour. I fail to understand how that is possible on a regular basis?

Always late. Abrasive. She prescribed me a very high dose of an antidepressant that every other physician has been shocked by. She just kept upping the dose, rather than trying another drug. Since I have found another psychiatrist who is awesome, I can't believe I ever stuck with Dr. Hogan for so long.

I feel that I am not a patient, but merely pushed through the meetings and interrupted when I am talking. I don't feel that I have experienced the care that I need. Shorten visits and felt hurried to leave by Dr. jestures.

I've seen Dr. Hogan for a number of years and get along great with her. Her receptionist is always pleasant. I agree with the tardiness and never really made an issue of it as I understand emergencies do happen and she may be sidetracked a bit. She helped me thru a very long and difficult divorce and helped me retain full custody of my children. For that I will be forever greatful. She recognized the tactics my ex-husband used to intimidate me for what they were. She gave me direction when I had none.

I have been seeing Dr Hogan for a few years now. Every time a have an appointment I wonder why I keep going back. When I leave after an appointment I remember why I keep going. I was charged a cancellation fee when I gave up trying to find her office for my 1st appointment. Its rare to sit in the waiting room less than an hour. She can be impersonal at times, but I have found that she does truly care about me as an individual. She is excellent with problem solving and trying multiple different kinds of medication to get the best fit. She explains the medication and allows the patient input into the treatment options. She was rated one of the top doctors in Mpls/St Paul. The poll was taken of other doctors. She must know her stuff she just really need to work on showing up on time for the first appointment and allowing adequate time for each person. Its hard to get past the frustration of sitting in the office for so long and it tends to be what you remember from appointments.
