I served with Dr. Bishop at Walter Reed for 2 years. During this time we worked closely as colleagues. In 2011 I filed a claim for VA disability and she had knowledge that would assist in my claim. As a professional, I went thru channels, got a referral, and tried to make an appointment. Her office stonewalled me for 48 days, never giving appointment nor returning calls. At the end, I could not speak to anyone when I called, just sent to a voice mailbox. I asked my VA counselor and she said to stop, that she has no intention of giving you an appointment. Fortunately, the claim was approved without her input, but her shabby treatment of me as a fellow colleague and friend is unacceptable. My last message was "if you do not wish to give me an appointment, do me the courtesy of telling me." With a valid referral by my VA Provider, I consider this to be a breach of ethical & professional responsibility. We are both veterans. Fellow veterans are respectful of each other. Army RN
