I was referred to Dr. Almendarez from a co-worker who has many complications and brags about Dr. Almendarez and how great he is. I just moved from out of town and was worried about finding a new doctor. I have had many complications and this was my first appt with him. He really took the time to listen and I did not have to tell him I was in pain, he told me he knew I was in pain cause of the swelling of my uterus. Other doctors never listen when I would tell them I was in pain and somehow he already knew by examining me. He right away new what the cause was and stated all the symtpoms I was feeling to me without me having to tell him a single word. He has scheduled my surgery and out me on medication that will help with my condition. I am 27 and have had trouble having children. I would love to be a mom someday and Dr. Almendarez is the first of many Dr's I have seen that has given me hope.

I have been seeing Dr. Almendarez for over 13 years. He performed two laps, delivered one child, and performed a full hysterectomy. I will admit it takes a while to get used to his relaxed style, but through everything, I've seen that he knows what he is doing and I trust him more than any other doctor I've seen. The staff at the Live Oak location is wonderful, but I would not recommend dealing with the people at his other location if you can help it.

The office staff is consistently friendly and professional. They definitly help Dr. Almendariz to run on time. I agree with the other review that if you are a patient with whom wants to get in, get out, and get on with your life, this is the doctor for you. If you are looking for excellent bedside manner, references to resources to help understand your condition, and follow-up from the doctor or staff in regards to your condition, look elsewhere. My surgery was performed by Dr. Almendariz, but it is unfortunate that he does not take the time to check in on his patients post surgery. The hospital that I stayed in stated it is usually "hard to catch him" post surgery, which is disappointing. Again, this is not against the doctor's character. Some physician's have a much better bedside manner than others wether the patient caseload is large or small. Choose based on the type of care you are seeking.There are other doctors/surgeons whom take better care of their patients.

I have been a pt of dr almendarez for 5 years. He was my ob for my first pregnancy and I had a lot of complications to which he monitored me closely and made sure I was taken care of. To the person who complaine about having Medicaid and being treated like dirt obviously isn't telling the whole truth. I lost my ins from work and was on preg Medicaid and he never treated me differently. He has a serious demeanor and being in healthcare I know how busy medical offices get. If you can't expect to wait sometimes then you are Wong unrealistic. He is very well educated an professional as well as sincere. As long as I can I will see dr almendarez. He caught my medical issues early and helped save my pregnancy. Some people just have negative attitudes and if your having a problem make sure it's not you before blaming someone else!!

Dr. Almendarez is absolutely, hands down, theeee BEST doctor i have ever had!! I was under his care with 3 of my 4 children and he took very good care of me!!! So well that both of my sisters, my mom AND my aunt used him with a total of 8 kids!!! He's always made us feel comfortable and never like we were beneath him. The only thing I'd recommend fixing is the wait...BUT...at this point, he's well worth the wait!!!

Dr Alemdnarez is rude and arrogant. He and his staff are terrible at follow up. You will need to be persistent and keep calling to receive results of test and procedures. He talks at his patients like they are small children. He doesn’t care to listen and if you call him on it he becomes visibly irritated (rolls his eyes)and pouts. The level of professionalism is sorely lacking. We all deserve better! I will no longer use him as my OB/GYN.

Dr Almendarez is a great Doctor I've been seeing him since Dr Juan Cuellar recommended him since he was retiring I think since 1998.I have never been dissatified with him and he now sees my 18year daughter and she loves him too.I'd recommend anyone to see him and if you have any problems with anyone in the front you let him know and he'll fix it.

I have been a patient of Dr. Almendarez for over 8 yrs. I really like the fact that he talks to me like a regular person and not down to me because I do not know doctor terminology. He is pretty punctual and has always tried to help me with other issues not 100% related to the annual exam I had.

Dr Almendarez has been my Gyno Dr in Live Oak location for about 12 years. I have never had a bad expierence with him an have been so happy with his service that my daughter goes to him as well. He delivered my first twin gran babie boys. I even got to be in the delivery room. I thank him for being patient for waiting for me since I was running late. It was a great expierence being there. He also did my tubal when I turned 35 & was very professional & made me feel comfortable since this was my 1st surgery ever in my life. I will continue seeing him & highly recommend his service to anyone else which I've done already & that person was a good friend & she was also very happy with his services along with the surgery he did on her. His office manager is great as well! Keep up the good work & I will see you on my next yearly exam.
