He was a great doctor until he just up and closed his practice leaving all his patients without a doctor. I am currently on my third one since he closed. I don't like my current doctor simply because I have to see him over a computer chat. Very unprofessional the way he closed so abruptly for another job.

Dr. Burress abandoned us here in the Knoxville area to go work for the VA in Chattanooga--making a three-hour drive each way, he told me, from Oak Ridge where he lives (in a mansion with a pool, by the way)--because at the VA he doesn't have to deal with paperwork. The reason that he used his wife as his "accountant" is beyond me (other than the obvious, to save money). Why didn't he just hire someone who knew what he was doing in regard to the financial side of his practice? From what I can tell, few if any of us here in the Knoxville area have been able to find another psychiatrist. And Dr. Burress did not complege the paperwork for us (such as treatment summary letters) that we promised and for which we had paid. For those reasons, the departure of Dr. Burress was extremely unprofessional, in my opinion.

Dr. Burress was the best. He always took time to listen to my problems. I was a patient of his for many years and I will miss him dearly. Does anyone know how to get a copy of your medical records? I paid for them, but never received them. I can't find another doctor that will see me without them. HELP!!!

Dr. Burress is an extremely caring and competent doctor. He was my doctor for many years. The sad thing is that he recently closed his practice. I will miss him.

Dr. Burress and his staff are awesome. They are kind and not judgemental at all. I would and have recommended him to my closest friends and family.
