He's fantastic. One of the few doctors in the area who takes mental illness and its treatment seriously. I can't say enough good about him.

Dr. Hutten-Czapski has been my family doctor for about 13 years. Personally to me he is the best doctor in Temiskaming Shores. He is very kind, caring and compassionate. Very smart and knows his stuff. He takes time to listen to everything you have to say. He doesn't rush you out of his office. Before just prescribing medications he thinks about which is the best way to treat your ailments. He never makes me feel stupid when I ask him questions. Like some other doctors I have seen. Carole at the office is very pleasant all the time. Doctor Hutten -Czapski is #1 to me. I'm alive now because I have him as a doctor. I'm hoping to have him as my doctor for a very long time to come

I went to this hospital when I had mono and Hutten-Czapski was my doctor... not only did he misdiagnose me with strep throat without even examining me, he didn't take any throat swaps (which is generally the norm if you diagnose someone with strep!), didn't look at my throat, and didn't listen to me when I said "This isn't strep; I've had strep before and this isn't it". To make matters worse, he then prescribed me a medication that made my mono much worse. Horrible doctor, inattentive and quite frankly an idiot. Do your best to stay away from this one.

Get off this man's back. He is the way he is because he is so far ahead of people in intelligence it's incredible. If I had listened to him when he was my doctor, I wouldn't have had the problems I do today. He is not argumentative with patients and gives them medications because they're the ones doing the whining for it, so because he hates seeing people sick and in pain, he gives them meds more often than some doctors. BUT he ALWAYS tells the patient that if they don't like the side effects or if the meds cause issues, then see him asap and get off the meds. He allows patients their right to self-determination which is a basic premise in treating people. Thank your lucky stars you have Peter, because his "worst" is better than a lot of other quack's "best". Too many whining pouters in New Liskeard, that's the MAIN issue here.

This doctor should not be allowed to pratice if that what you call it. I have "Hep" C and in 2000 he was giving me Morphin Pills that made me hallucinate and then gave me Ratio-Oxycocet and those one worked good Now he does'nt know what to give me so I asked him if I can have some marijuana Pills cause I also have cronic Back pain and neck pain and a Plate in my ankle and really bad headache,so to me the only thing that I could think of is those Pills that won't hurt my Liver cause I am also medication for Hep"C" one needle a week and 4 Pills a day

He is an amazing doctor! He really saved my life, and gave me a second chance. I was in high school, and I was dying due to a poor immune system and lack of health. When I went to him, things only went uphill! After I caught the flu, he even came to check on me, and put his life on hold for me. I am thankful to be alive to him, and I think that all of the other people who are talking down about him do not know what they are saying.

I think there is some personal issues with this Dr and some patients because I hear good things but also hear bad things. I feel that there is a need for some upgrading or refresher courses for this Dr to keep his license.

I used to be intimidated by Dr. Hutten-Czapski's brusque bedside manner. If I had a cold or throat infection he was in a hurry that is for sure. When I went to him with a mental illness I was nervous about getting the brush off. However, he took the time to ask a lot of difficult questions, he never dismissed my complaints, he always told me to come back if things weren't helping. If he doesn't know something he isn't afraid to admit it and he looks it up for me. With a lack of psychiatrists in the area he is filling a gap and doing it very well. I have developed a strong respect for him and would recommend him.
