I have read others assessment of Dr P Louw, I find many hard to believe we are using the same Doctor. Over the 52yrs in Canada ( im 76) I’ve had several excellent Dr , I rate him, his care, knowledge , treatments, as high as any I’ve been treated by. I have complete trust in him, by his care, knowledge, manner. Yes if you are looking to be pampered, stroked, coddled this might not be the Dr for you. If you want medical help , experience, knowledge hes your guy. My daughter who also uses him , hold him in the same high option. He’s very good!

He is terrible. I think he hates being a doctor. He made me go cold turkey on benzos and sleeping pills.

A doctor who is more worried about making money than helping patients (which means he squeezes in as many patients as possible each day and keeps appointments short and will call you in to tell you stuff the receptionist should tell you over the phone) He is willing to prescribe tests and medications though seems to have trouble diagnosing patients and is very slow to come to any conclusion. Good doctor for treating minor issues and common illnesses but would not recommend for anything serious.

Dr Louw was my family doctor. Still struggling with an eye issue. Had to pay out of pocket for MRI in kelowna as he refused to get me one. Never is able to give a diagnosis, multiple visits needed until he finally makes a guess.

The previous doctor to Dr. Louw was my GP for many years. He was a fantastic doctor. It took me quite a while to get used to Dr. Louw's ways. I'm now used his 'bedside' manner. However, I do have a problem with one of his office staff. The older gal who has been there the longest is a very helpful and kind mannered person, helps with anything that's asked of her. The newer girl, who is suppose to be the office manager, needs a lesson or two in manners and dealing with older people. She is very rude and impatient, it's not nice to have to deal with this kind of treatment when a person is not feeling well to begin with. Also the doctor needs to be more open minded and not always deny requests because of his so called 'moral believes'. That should be left at home. Other than that, I find Dr. Louw to be an all right doctor.

I have been seeing Dr.Louw for nearly a year.He has helped myself and my son a great deal. The only problem I have with this office is,His reception staff is the ultimate worst.Dr.Louw absoloutely needs new help.Rude and very poor attitude. The full time girl actually told me what I should be using for my medicine.Later found out would not relay my message to him, about a mistake that was made on my prescription.I nver enjoy seeing her there thats for certain.Dr.Louw certainly needs a change in that dept.

I have been seeing Dr Louw (for myself and my children) for 2 years. I have no problems with him. I have found he is thorough, to the point that he would not just arbitrarily sign an employee medical form without doing a physical to ensure that the form was accurate and that I could, in fact, do the work that was set out (I could). He referred my son to a specialist at my request, when I did not like the person he referred us to, I spoke with him and after ascertaining WHY, he referred us to another. On the one occasion that I inquired about botox, he absolutely did not push his other business but told me we could discuss it there if I chose to set up an appointment. Personally I find the eye contact comments here kind of weird. Good doctor and in an area such as the South Okanagan where all the GPs are crammed full of seniors taking up their time it is great to have a community entrenched person who cares.

I've had 2 appts with Dr Louw and all I can say is wow! I thought he was a young pup in his 20's. lol Seriously though, he was VERY cordial to me and described everything in detail. A wonderful doctor. But why are people here complaining about eye contact??? All doctors refer to their computer devices these days, so what! I found nothing wrong with his eye contact at all. I'm there to get better and saw nothing wrong with his "bedside" manners whatsoever. I hope he stays with us forever. :)
