I wish I could give Dr. Luke all positive reviews like so many others but not in my Mum’s case.

Long story in short, my Mum was diagnosed with kidney cancer in December 2022. She was scheduled for the surgery by her local urologist in mid April last year. He said he couldn’t move up the surgery due to too many patients. In early April it was confirmed the kidney cancer had spread to the blood vessel and was invading the liver. At this point, my Mum’s local urologist could not perform the surgery anymore. He sent an urgent referral to Dr. Luke. We met him in middle of April. Dr. Luke prioritized my Mum’s surgery and it was done in less than 4 weeks. At the end of the surgery Dr. Luke told me it was done very successfully. Sadly, my Mum passed away in a week after she was discharged from London University hospital due to complications of the surgery. She was 83. She survived only 23 days after the surgery. I was hoping she could live 3+ years with the surgery.

When I brought my Mum to local ER few days after my Mum was discharged from London University hospital due to post-operative symptoms, the doctor in ER called London University hospital via CritiCall. Dr. Luke was away at that time so the senior resident on call responded to ER physician. He said he didn’t feel it was a surgical issue. He was in my Mum’s OR and was involved in her post-operative care. His answer is absolutely not appropriate. I was very disappointed although I didn’t think he was able to fix my Mum’s issue. He got his license at the end of last June. I hope he learned the lesson and treats all his patients in a professional way.

I was supposed to have an appointment with Dr. Luke, but was cancelled because of Covid, which is understandable, but my family doctor has tried to contact his office to re-book, leaving messages with no response, so they finally gave me his number and have not received a response either! Please just tell me if you are too busy and that I should go to another Urologist! PLEASE!!!!!

Best Dr. we have had dealings with - our Son has been in his care since 2020 and my husband this year 2022. Dr. is very lucky to have someone like Amanda-she is so supportive and caring- and the rest of his team are all wonderful - could not ask for better care and support. Dr. is a pleasure to visit with and during telephone conversations - always takes time to hear your questions and explains things to your satisfaction. All the best to you all.

Dr Luke is amazing
He did my surgery May 11 of 2022, a double nephrectomy and transplant, he did an amazing job and I am so thankful for him and his knowledge.

Dr Luke took on my case after 2 1/2 yrs of pain, repeated UTI’s, and 14 stents. My local urologist said “this is your life”. Fortunately my GP said this can’t be true. I was so fortunate to be referred to Dr Luke. Had my surgery three weeks ago, restructured bladder and the tissue used to make a brand new uretor, I’m feeling so much better, no pain. From the Amazing Amanda to his very skilled staff I want to thank them so much. I have a new lease on life.

Dr. Patrick Luke performed what I considered an extremely difficult surgery on my kidney in 2012, pyeloplasty. Previous to my surgery I was having continuous pain from regular UTI's in my bladder. It is now 8 years later and my health has improved significantly and I have not experienced a UTI since. Not only is Dr. Luke an extremely skilled surgeon, but has a personality that puts you at ease. I would recommend him over and over again. One of the best surgeons in Canada.

Dr. Luke performed my husband’s transplant and I don’t think there is a doctor better than him. He is compassionate and really put us at ease. He is truly gifted and we are so grateful that we had him as the surgeon.

He is very good with discussing things in a considerate, informed way. He gave some good, clear test results. Then good news again when referred back to him.
Later, another doctor gave a conflicting story. Puzzling. “but Dr. Luke said…”.
We were given results of scans, the ones he had ordered. There in black and white was a different story than what he had said. Who knows why. He had seemed so nice and trustable, yet something did not add up. Pain and extra tests may have been avoided, and that would have been appreciated. The referral back to him really bothers me. He reviewed everything, but still didn’t present those facts. The all-clear was nice, but results of scans did match the pain location and offered an accurate explanation. Unfortunate. Perhaps he was trying to be kind, but that didn’t make the pain or test results disappear.
