Dr. Blackmon SAVED my life when I was diagnosed with a rare type of lung cancer. Not only did she get all the cancer out, but in doing so saved me from having other types of treatments such a radiation and chemo. Less then 2% of lung cancers were the type I had and it was very aggressive. Also did a variety of tests prior to my surgery so she knew exactly how much lung she could take and make sure I would not have to live carrying around an oxygen tank. She is EASY to talk with, down to earth, REAL and CARING. She answered all my questions and her staff is EXCEPTIONALLY FANTASTIC. She has been following my recovery for over 3 yrs and I so appreciate it her scheduling my scans and seeing me the same day with the results. She has relieved a lot of the stress that a cancer patient experienced by doing this. She is beautiful, kind, caring and one of the smartest-wisest doctors I have ever had. I owe my life to her. She is leaving Methodist and going to the Mayo Clinic. That's sad!

Probably the best Dr. that my husband and I have ever been to. She is very smart and has options if the news is bad. She presents several plans of treatment. Dr. Blackmon makes herself very available to her patients. She has a great bedside manor and she puts up with no nonsense with getting tests done and quickly. I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Blackmon. She listens to you and answers questions. Do not be afraid to ask her any question. With Dr. Blackmon , my husband and I felt safe in her hands. That means alot when you are dealing with life and death.

I have had 2 separate surgeries with this doctor. The first surgery went well but developed a few complications afterward that had nothing to do with the surgery itself. Had another surgery to resolve the complications and it was a success with several other doctors involved. My only issue was leading up to the surgery I feel I was kept in the dark about possible issues the could have occurred and when I asked her about some problems and concerns I had I was given the run around and was told to ask other doctors that were involved with no answers from anyone. All I really needed was reassurance and some compassion shown regarding the surgery and after care but what I got was frustration and lots of stress. I am thankful that this doctor took my case and found a way to fix my overall problem. I only wished that I hadn't had to wait so long to finally have the problem resolved. My advise is to listen to the patient more and don't dismiss their questions or concerns. Nice bedside manor.
