I have been going to her for yrs, but have recently been feeling disillusioned. She has always been on time and she always appears to be very rushed. In ALL my procedures that required stitches, they were either so tight you had to dig to remove or they were so loose that they opened before healing and left a larger scar. Her use of the aerosol (nitrous?) has left little round scars. My last app't she sprayed a place on my forehead. I look at my forehead daily and had never seen any spot there. Made me start to wonder whether this was manufactured to collect ins. money. Since then I have heard a couple of similar stories. I will not be going back.

Very short with me did not welcome any questions and was extremely rushed. She was in the room for about 2 min tops. The most unprofessional office visit I have EVER had. Only cared about getting money in the quickest was possible. WHAT A WASTE OF MONEY AND TIME!!!! Does not care about her patients one bit. A demeaning person.

My dermatologist of 27 years recently passed away and I was distraught. I had a place which needed to be checked and called his office (large practice with multiple practitioners). The wait time there was not acceptable given my history. I called Dr. Sparks office and was able to schedule an appointment in a timely manner. I am so pleased with this choice. Today was my first appointment. I found Dr. Sparks to be quick, very thorough, professional, pleasant and knowledgeable. Right off the bat she noticed 3 places on me (not 1) which she quickly stated "need to come off." I was so relieved I made this choice. I don't know what happened with the other 2 individuals who did not have the same experience, but I could not be more pleased with Dr. Sparks or her staff. And she had a very tough act to follow in my previous dermatologist.

I'm stunned by some of these other reviews, because I've been going to her for years and think she's a wonderful doctor. Contrary to another reviewer's remark, she saved my life by finding cancer that two other doctors in town missed, and I know several people (including the person who recommended her) where that was also the case. She's the only derm who insisted on giving me a full body exam. Yes, she's fast, but on purpose--her ads even say your time is important to them/you won't wait or something like that, and it's true. Personally, I like that in a doctor, and have never had the impression that she doesn't care. She's kind of sweet and nerdy. Her staff is great and friendly. They've worked me in for emergencies, and Dr. Sparks even called me on a Sunday night to suggest some things to do to keep my daughter more comfortable until she could see her in the morning. Makes me wonder if these are reviews from real people.

Missed basal cell cancer not only on me but three of my friends as well. She rushes in and out always in a hurry. I had to have double surgery and a plastic surgeon to finish what she started. For over a year I asked her to remove what I saw she said not to worry nothing to be worry about you should see my face now! I would not have had to go through what I did if she would have removed it and sent in a sample to the lab over a year ago. I will not return.

Mid 1990s in Louisville, KY.: I went to M. Sparks out of concern for my acne. She recommmened a "simple" removal of two small nodules: on my forehead & my cheek. Ignorant of best practice, I allowed this to occur, despite my dismay when I saw the size of the surgical tool she planned to use. I recall asking her about the tool and she became quickly defensive (again my ignorance in not recognizing this red flag). I relented, and what followed was honestly a truely awful, even gruesome, surgery in her office; I can still recall the smell of my burning flesh as she used a devise to reportedly control the bleeding, and the wild crisscross of stiches she used to seal the scars--as if a child had done the work, & unfortunently what followed changed my life forever: two substantial facial scars that remain to date--scars that a plastic surgeon I went to afterward described as product of "discount plastic surgery" & performed without skill. I've forgiven M. Sparks, but pls. be forewarned.

I found Dr. Sparks to be knowledgeable and to the point. I appreciated her candor and willingness to explain procedures that she was going to perform. She is a fine doctor and I would recommend her to my friends.

If you want someone that really cares, look anywhere but here. They care about money only, not their patients and she has some the worst bedside manner that it has ever been my misfortune to experience.
