Treating depression with addictive narcotics does not make a good doctor. Glad to hear he's no longer practicing in Cape Breton!

very easy to get a script for anything if that's what your looking for in a doctor, he was not help as far as talking to him he just sat there like he was the patient , I know one thing he sure left in a hurry I had an appointment I called him before to confirm the date and the phone number was disconnected he was gone just like that not very professional to say the least.

dr sheard is easily manipulated by the "expertise" of some of his patients

Sheard got me through some mean years. On the negative side, he did, treat me for depression for years but I really had bipolar disorder.Leaving with no notice was just plain rude. And i had a lot of really, really short sessions. But the man was empathetic and stuck with me for many years.

I had a very difficult time when my husband died. I made two suicide attempts I knew I didn't need meds.I also knew if I talked to Dr. Sheard, I would be back to myself. That's exactly what happened.I believe he is most amazing. My trust factor was down but I knew without a doubt I could trust him.

Very intelligent and considerate profesional. There is a very large void in his specialty here now!! Best wishes to him for the future. A patient.

So sorry 11/11 to read u are so depressed cuz a doctor moved home to his family. He knew in March he would be done here & kept it to himself. Very unprofessional & was protecting his interest & income.Refuses to give reasons for medications to this highly educated health care professional & I have the right to know. Will not treat you if you don't take the pills. With all due respect, 95% of psychiatrists are legal drug pushers. He said to me, just tell me how much you want and I'll write it. Ohhh! Not me.Then the 30.00 charge for my chart[20pgs]. That's a wks. food on my pension. Mrs. Sheard told him it was unfair to do that and she would not ask us for the money. Very, very proud of her! What integrity! So wish him well 11/11 cuz doctors like him are a dime a dozen. There is never a need to be greedy! If he cared about your wellbeing & other clients, kindness & compassion would have let him tell us about his move.Goodluck 11/11 & keep chin up. God is loving you.
