Initial visit was good, he explained everything well and I really liked him. On my follow up visit he was obviously running late, wanted me to put my feet in the stirrups while the door of the exam room was still open. When I refused and said I wanted the door closed, he grabbed my foot and tried to put it in the stirrup himself. When I began to cry during the proceedure he snapped "why are you crying, this doesn't hurt" I left his office in tears and had nightmares for a year after. As a member of the health care proffession I now know that I could have reported him but as a scared young girl I didn't at the time.

Dr. Zeman was extremely polite to me. I went to him in order to have an IUD put into place. He patiently explained the device, the procedure, and the possible complications and side effects that can occur with the use of this type of contraceptive. During the meeting he took the time to show me a model of what the device looked like and where exactly in my body it would be placed. I have read the recent reviews of some of his clients and I have to disagree and say that he does have bedside manner. He is slightly abrupt in his communication, but I do think that this is more of a cultural difference than a propensity towards being rude. He is direct and I feel that this is a quality that may put him in the disfavour of some sects who may be a little more sensitive than others. I have had the misfortune of also seeing another ob/gyn in North Bay to my grave dissatisfaction and I feel that Dr. Zeman's service, manner, and knowledge exceed the skills of many of his colleagues.

He was responsible for putting my unborn child and myself at risk of dying. I was taking classes in North Bay (I am from Ottawa), so while I was pregnant I went to him. He said that the baby and I were both doing fine, she was the right size and all was well. I am a Type 1 Diabetic, so I naturally need closer attention because of the possible complications. He never did an Ultrasound, and my check-ups involved a two-minute listen to the heartbeat and feeling my stomach. I went to visit my parents, and get set up in Ottawa. They were appaulled with what they saw. My daughter was in distress, she was getting far too big, I couldn't breath right, and there was a tremendous excess of amniotic fluid. Within three days of coming to Ottawa my daughter was delivered. I was only 7 1/2 months in, and she was born 8 1/2 lbs, and the amniotic fluid spilled off the table and well into the hall, now does that sound like a pregnancy that was 'going perfectly'? Not to mention he rude and one sided

I unfourtunatly had Dr Zeman deliver my son, as he was the Dr on call when I went into labour. He was EXTREMELY rude and had absolutly no bedside manner. He then had the nerve to come to my room after my baby was born and tell me to get some contraception, because I was too young to have children.(I was 21 and in a commited relationship, and am now 25 and expecting baby number 2) My mother was in the delivery room with me, but had to step out because she was so angry with the Dr and the way he was talking to me. I would not recommend him to anyone as he is absolutely rude and unprofessional.

I was referred to Dr. Zeman for a prolapsed uterus. I was in a lot of discomfort as you can imagine. He recommended a partial hysterectomy. Because this was not an urgent case, I was put on a waiting list for a number of months. While waiting, I read that a pessary could be inserted to hold the uterus in place. He had never mentioned this to me. When I saw him next, (close to my date of surgery), I asked him about this and within a matter of minutes he inserted one and I felt so much better. Why did he not do this in the first place I will never know, but it should NOT have been up to me to mention it. He has a very arrogant and unapproachable manner, and I was almost hesitant to ask. The only positive thing, he is a good surgeon.

Dr. Zeman is a wonderful doctor I am quite a young mother 3 children 11, 8 and 3 Dr. Zeman was my doctor for all three childrenand numerous surgical procedures, I refer alot of potential patients to Dr. Zeman. His staff is absolutely great, so friendly. Anyone who does not get along with Dr. Zeman probably did not get their own way. Dr. Zeman knows what he is doing and has been for quite a long time. My sister does not like Dr. Zeman but she is a very stubborn person and again did not get her own way.

I've had Dr.Zeman for 13 years. he has performed 3 surgeries on me. I recently had to have a hysterectomy. My family doctor recommended me to another doctor. I asked for Dr Zeman because he knows his stuff. He is a very knowledgeable doctor. As for bed side manners, he gets right to the point. He does not beat around the bush. If he retires the north will be out of a great doctor.

I cannot sing Dr. Zeman's praises enough. He is extremely knowledgeable about his area of medicine and I feel privileged to be a patient of his. People who say he should retire don't realize what a loss the city will be in for when he does. If you get an early morning appointment, nine times out of ten you will be seen on time. If the office is backed up, it's only because he's at the hospital doing an emergency procedure.

Dr. did surgery to repair rectocyle/cystocele. Sutures were a little tight though. All was well until a few months later when the repair gave out. Upon going to see about having the surgery redone, I was advised that I could live like that for twenty years or even more. I was embarassed by it of course. He said he could just make things a little wider, I didn't need the other. So, that's how I went. Of course the original problem is still there. On a future visit I said I was having a lot of problems and he got angry and said "Well, you're the one that opted not to have the surgery". I was almost in tears and left. Probably will never go back. I'll just live with it.

I was on time his office and try to explain my problem and he was so rude to me and my mother. I had some sharp pain in my tummy. I had my tubes tied age of 21 years old due to my disability. I was getting alot of infections since I got my tubes tied so thats why my family doctor send me to see him. Him said I was getting menatapuse early at the age of 24 because I was just having peroid 1 to 2 days long. So I don't like his rudeness or his addatudie and he leave the door wide open after doing examined. What a nevre of him doing that.It be my first and last in the Dr.Zeman office again.
