I have been a patient of Dr. Patel for a number of years. Not a particularly friendly doctor. Abrupt. Initially he would only give me 3 refills on prescriptions and that then was reduced to 2 refills. These are for ongoing prescriptions. It's his way of milking the system and keeping you coming back. Last appointment he was 2 hours late and I finally walked out and found a new doctor. I would not recommend him!

I use to see his wife Mrs . Pateal but stop seeing her except for physical's . I have noticed that the last couple of years he has become over worked and way over booked and does not spend as much time with his patients as he should. He has aways referred me to a speacialist if I needed one. Think his receptionist could be nicer and she should stop way over booking him ! The wait time is long and the office's need a makeover. The bathroom is disgusting .

I went to detox to quite drinking. I arrived on a Friday night so I didn't get to see him. When coming off a long binge of drinking its common practice to put a patience on Valium for a short time to take the edge off withdrawals. Because he wasn't there on the weekend I had to go to emergency to get a prescription. The attending Dr. couldn't believe I hadn't been sent sooner. She wrote me a 5 day prescription for while in Detox. I returned to detox, took the meds and was able to cope. He showed up the next day and assessed all 21 patients, no exaggeration, in approximately 25 minutes. He saw my 5 day prescription and slashed it out. He spent 1.5 min with me and said, " your not having a seizure, you don't need it... Next patient please." I left the detox, got a hotel room. My wife came to help me. we went back to emerg and told them what happened. The Dr was very surprised. The Dr gave me a prescription and told me to see him in the AM if there were any problems

I don't think anyone realizes the saint this man is. He could practise at one of the more 'swanky' clinics in the city. But instead he keeps his own clinic in the hood, see's people from the detox, does the check ups on the patients in the psych ward... He is a saint. He does all the work that other doctors can't be bothered to or don't want to do. He is very very good. He saved my life by sending me to the Youth Detox when I was 16, and that was the only time I've seen him get stern or be unpleasant at all. He's been my doctor ever since then. He is always available when I need to see him on short notice. He is comforting, kind and considerate. I don't get this 'only one issue pre visit crap' I can go in there about three things, get three different prescriptions if needed. He works tirelessly... and so what if their waiting room isn't the nicest. Get over yourselves. This man puts his time and money into things that are important.

Get used to 1/2 to 1 hr. plus waiting time past appt. time and the grubbiest waiting room in town, he's been here forever and is multi so what's going on there? Treated me for couple conditions, always a 3 week prescription and another appt. to keep you running back. Needed something for work, told me we can 'work something out" about the $60. fee then re-appt. as usual, and upoun arrival demanded the fee, whata hack. Move on before considering would be my advice + save the torment!

This Dr. Patel treated me for an ulcer for months, when i had celiacs disease... so badly that the overdose of pills for the wrong sickness caused more sickness, creating a bad candida infection which i fought for over a year afterwards! not happy at all, and still my stomach is probably damaged!

i have been a patient of his for almost 20 yrs and for the second time i have been told that i am only allowed to discuss one thing with him at a time if «i have 2 items then i need 2 appointments i think this is wrong. i am very disappointed with this behaviour. there may be times where there is more than one symtom to one problem but at this rate he gets rich and i get sicker. i think it is time i found a truly caring doctor if «i have to wait in a waiting room a little longer because the doctor is taking his time with a client than at least i know i dont have to make multiple appointments. very disappointed if he is having personal problems he should take care of that bnut dont dump it on the patients.
