Dr. McCarthy is an extremely difficult person - opinionated, prickly and unpleasant. He allows privacy violations in his practice. I witnesses his PA drag a 19 year old kid out into the waiting room to tell his mother that he smoked marijuana. The kid was an adult; he clearly didn't consent to that breach of privacy, especially in front of a room full of other patients. The staff is very unhelpful. Lots of young doctors start working in that office and then leave because Dr. McCarthy and the staff are so unpleasant.

Dr. McCarthy is an excellent physician. Sometimes he will get on a rant about one thing or another but it is because he is passionate about medicine. It can be frustrating that he focuses on Vitamin D but he tries to treat illness with non-prescription remedies when possible. He keeps up to date with current issues and runs an great practice. The office is very accommodating for last minute appointments with several physicians/PAs available in the office. I have seen 4 different providers in the this office, all of which gave me excellent care. I would recommend this office to anyone.

Kicked us out of the practice for 4 missed appointments during a 7 year period. Also conducts studies on his patients without their knowledge.

Dr. McCarthy is OK overall but wants to blame every problem on low VItamin D. Spent too much time talking about that.

Really liked the fact that Dr McCarthy's office is shared with multiple doctors. If one is missing due to vacation or other event, it's possible to see another doctor in the office on short notice. Also, the facility has more available hours than most offices I know of. I have only gone to him 3 to 4 times so I can't speak much to about his knowledge or helpfulness since I didn't have to ask him much when I visited.
