My experience with Dr. Shatz was positive on all counts. He is a patient, knowledgeable physician with state of the art tools. Dr. Shatz operated on both of my eyes with superlative results. He didn't over-promise and yet my results fulfilled more than my expectations. His staff is concerned and competent. This is a 10. I have shared my delight with several people and will continue to do so.

Having eye surgery is scary. The good thing is they give you "happy juice" short lasting anesthesia to help you relax. Dr. Shatz was amazing. I had both lens replaced (cataract surgery even though I am only in my 50's) and replaced with Restore multifocal lens. Rand eye institute said I'd likely still need glasses. Dr. Shatz said I would NOT need glasses, except maybe at night and that I would likely see halos at night. No halos. What I see are the concentric circles of the lens around bright lights at night. They are extremely crisp though! The tough time is between surgeries as they only operate on one eye at a time. Once both eyes are done, it's as if you are seeing a whole new world. Everyone keeps saying to me, "You can see that!" Insurance does not cover the Restore lens, but this is my eyes, and I think it was money well spent. Take Arnica - it shorted the pain and irritation to 2 days in the second eye. I highly recommend Dr. Shatz.

Very arrogant and was not apologetic about having the patients wait for 2 hours, to only see him for 10 minutes. Would not recommend him to anyone, not even my parents!!!!
