I have had four appointments with this Doctor and I only saw him once! The other three were handled by PA or staff. Had a spinal injection and it was suggested that I return in two weeks, the only appointment I could get was just a little over a month away. I will be looking for a Doctor to replace Dr. Keller

Unfortunately after a car accident I was referred to Dr. Keller after 2 stints of physical therapy. After taking some film and looking at my MRI he recommended spinal fusion surgery on my back. In order to isolate my pain he recommended injections to determine where my pain was coming from to facilitate the surgery. The first shot was a bi-lateral facet joint injection performed by Dr. David Doward with no issues. I was asked to fill out a pain diary to document the coming days after the shot. The day of the procedure I was told to set up the appt for the disc bloc injection. Dr. Keller administered the 2nd shot and unfortunately while I was on the table he struck a nerve 3 times during the procedure. I screamed each time, it felt as if I was being electrocuted. A week later and I am still having pain in my right leg. He was not apologetic and seemed unbothered by the incident.

During the follow up appointment I mentioned the pain dairy from the 1st shot hadn't been mentioned and no one asked for it although I provided it to one of the admin prior to the 2nd shot since there wasn't a follow up between the 2 shots. After discussing the results from the first shot he referred me to Dr. Doward for treatment. He seemed quite annoyed with all my questions regarding clarity considering I didn't understand why the 2nd shot was even necessary. I really felt if the pain diary had been evaluated in the first place from the first injection we may have taken a different approach. Not to mention I was paying a $150 co pay for every visit. There were also some scheduling issues that caused me to wait over a month to get an appt for the 1st shot because someone in the office scheduled me incorrectly which I did speak with the office manager about. All in all I expected so much more than I received and my pain hasn't changed and I'm no further along in recovery than I was when I walked in the building.

After following up with Dr. Doward I was told the pain diary should have been reviewed prior to the 2nd shot being administered.

Because of this experience I will do a little more research going forward to better understand the protocol for each procedure with my next doctor.

So disappointed. Had him as a workers comp dr. Maybe that’s why he treated me so poorly. Never looked at his notes from previous visits. Spoke down to me and wouldn’t let me speak without rudely interrupting. Every time I went to see him he told me something different. Very bad experience, and made me lose my faith in doctors.

I would highly recommend Dr. Keller to anyone looking for an orthopedic surgeon! Yes - I did have to wait over an hour to see him. However, his compassion and expertise cannot be overlooked. He took his time with my evaluation and even asked me questions. He saw me, when no other surgeon in Jacksonville would, due to the fact that I had surgery in Spain. I am very grateful for individuals that go above and beyond in their profession, and Dr. Keller certainly did!

Dr. Keller did my total knee replacement surgery and he did a wonderful job. I am a diabetic and had several issues with pain and healing and he helped all the way. He is very knowledgeable and completely professional. When I had bad shoulder problems he did that surgery on me also. I would definitely choose him again if I need surgery. Excellent doctor!!!!

I was duped the first visit and saw the nurse practitioner not the Dr--without notice. The MRI took 3 weeks to get ordered, they kept "forgetting" to get the order from the Doctor. Upon seeing Dr. Keller, he was rude, non-caring, and rushed. I work at Baptist too, and would not recommend him. I have had 3 back surgeries in the past in another county and was treated with nothing but respect and compassion. Perhaps because I am a nurse I have higher expectations in care. The office and phone staff were mechanical and did not treat you compassionately at all.

I thought Dr Keller and the staff were wonderful. He answered all my questions and took all the time I needed unlike other Dr's who blew me off.

Great doctor. Very helpful and caring staff. Worth the large amount of money I had to pay because I have no insurance.

I was lucky to have Dr. Keller after I shattered my right ankles. Very matter of fact, direct, knowledgeable. Trusted him immediately when I met him. Knew I was good hands. Would recommend no question about it.
